Birds, Stinging Bees, and God

Innocence until that day,
Thy path ended another way,
Until the blockage up ahead,
Lured thee into its bed.

A scently sweet hung in the air,
Gave wind to impulse without care,
A shifting of the bodily flow,
Deadly games danced with the foe.

A sudden sound filled with spite,
Lulled thee then into a fight,
Against the wall thyne shuddering heart,
Began to bleed and fall apart.

At once it turned into the night,
Darkness full of hate and fright,
To love again, thy soul be true,
Shunned forever, but by you.

Courage in thy withered shell,
Founded the strength to tackle, repell,
Though once lost upon the detour behind,
God gave thee love to again be kind.

Sunshine, I'm sorry but Homestead isn't working right now so I can't read that email you sent me   !!

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate, Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer's lease hath all too short a date. Sometimes too hot the eye of heaven shines, And often is his gold complexion dimmed; And every fair from fair sometimes declines, By chance or nature's changing course, untrimmed. But thy eternal summer shall not fade, Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st; Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade, When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st.
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
William Shakespeare

Hi Lady Sofia!
I really like the imagery in your poem. I especially like the way you show God's power to change a heart. Nicely done Amanda!

Amanda, dear, you have been deep in sorrow's well, that I know for sure, and you have come to know God in troubling times. From this well you draw your strength for tomorrow's pain. Thanks for your courage in writing about small pieces of your life.
Poetry helps to open up and bring to the surface things that have been kept inside. I understand you so well, because we have such similar paths
Love

Oh Jester, thank you! And he certainly did, if only you knew...I was so dark and depressed after my lover broke my heart. I felt as if I could never smile, nor trust another in the same way...then I found God's love, and I was back to my old self again.

Ellie, thank you!

Dear Liz, your poetry has that certain flair which I thought I recognized but wasn't sure. Thank you for being so honest; it helps to hear that I'm not the only one. This reminds me of your poem, "The Burden", where I could almost feel that weight upon your shoulders. Poetry is the only way I find release; I can barely shed tears, as I find them "frozen in place".

LadySofia~
Such sorrow is not meant to be carried alone.
God's shoulders are broader than ours.
Gotta shift the load to Him ... for He is all powerful.
When He is your friend ...
you will find others, for He will send
them to tend the heart.

Lovely and well put. If everyone could just remember (or learn as the case may be) that they NEVER (or Never Have To) carry their burdens alone, their plights would be easier to bear.

LadySofia,
I share with the others to say, you have shared a touching and inspiring piece which hold out hope for Change  through the Power of God.  After we have messed up-The Great Physican is able to make us well again.

Wow! Sometimes it is in our darkest moments we find the light! I'm so glad you found it, and that He brought you back to yourself again! Thank you for sharing this with us!
