Where did I find my Lord you ask?
Ah, I remember that well,
I was climbing up to the bottom,
When down to my knees I fell.
My legs no longer would hold me,
I had given up the fight,
My life seemed turned upside down,
I was lost and alone in my plight.
There was nowhere else for me to go,
But would He even hear my prayer,
I'd turned my back so long ago,
Why even think He'd be there.
In the good times, He was forgotten,
Back when I thought I was strong,
But I didn't know then what I know now,
I never knew I could be so wrong.
As I hopelessly bowed my head,
And clasped my hands to pray,
Tears cascaded down my face,
No longer held at bay.
Shoulders trembling as I sobbed,
Were in a moment, stilled,
A soft embrace by gentle arms,
And my tears no longer spilled.
Angels were kneeling with me,
Their radiant wings were spread,
They helped me see Him standing there,
As my worries now were shed.
There was no hesitation,
As He filled my soul from above,
His perfect light enveloped me,
At once, I could feel His love.
Never again have I been alone,
He's been there every step of the way,
And with my Lord I will finish this walk,
Until He calls me home to stay.

Dear Bonnie; I love this humble story of a beautiful soul in surrender. It never fails that we all need to hit that bottom before we cry out to Him and He lifts us up into His arms. You have said it here in your poem with your inimitable beauty and grace. Love, Ellie

We put up such a fight resisting those holy promptings and urges-the yearnings of our hearts. But as your beautiful poem here relates, we finally need to come into the sense of our own futile helplessness, before we can trully be helped and aided by the Lord, with what we've needed all along:A Loving Helping, Powerful Savior-not only to save us from sin, but also to save us from ourselves!  Thanks for sharing your story,

Hi Bonnie!
This poem is absolutely beautiful! There's nothing like having your soul filled from above. I really enjoy your writing.

BSC~
Lovely of you to share.
Very well-met challenge.
God gives us the greatest challenge
of our life ... to follow Him ...
and then He carries us when we need to
be carried.  How loving is that ?
Wow ... He carries me !

Bonnie, your poem is the greatest!  It's amazing how much our lives reflect our faith, and how blind we can be to it before we have it.  Thank you for sharing this beauty.

BSC thanks so much for your open minded
reply on my poem  - this is lovely - my oldest son is saved and is the far better
for it.   It is usually bottom that happens
to people when there is no way else to
go but up when spirituality hits them hard.

I used to sermon and remember one of my
favorites.

"God does not answer you in words.
You can pray all you want but if you
don't wait for the answer - you will not
get it.
God gives visions - for with words you
will find excuses -----God knows your
excuses and does not want to hear them.

Pray, wait --- I do not know how long
you will have to wait, but he will answer.
With a vision - of whatever it is that
perceive is a better condition than what
you are doing at this time.

But if you pray then walk out of the room,
do you expect anything?  Wait - for your
vision. It will come.

Though no longer preach ----I still find
that inspirational, and am so glad you found
your way up.
