I have no memory of not knowing Jesus, as I was gifted with a Grandmother who was very spiritual and brought me up, teaching and guiding me, ever so lovingly to understand Jesus. Although, it took me years to remain in Church services with her. The ol' folks
took their religion serious, especially the Assembly of God  denomination. When they would get "happy", about forty-five years ago, as Grandmother lovingly referred to it, I would get scared and hide under the pew. There I could pluck the back of her brown roll down stockings and stretch her elastic
garters, popping them against her legs for self-entertainment purposes. After singing was over and before church began, she would wave her hand beneath the pew for me to come out, run along home. At the age of
twelve, I started to  be  accountable for sin and understanding.

I married the wildest, meanest, toughest "hood" in the state. That's what Grandma called him. My hood turned out to be a kind, loving dad to our two boys. He  remaines the gentle  husband, dad and papaw to our three
grandchildren today. So, Grandma missed that call!! I am sure she is pleased to have been wrong in that area.

Upon graduation we were married going directly into heavy debt. Both of us working with good jobs then the unexpected happened. Our first baby was on his way. I had to quit work and stay home and worry how to pay
for the new car, new house, new furniture, new baby and keep the utilities paid. Looking back I do not know how we made it, but it was almost time for me to return to work, after giving birth to a ten pound, bald headed precious baby. The doctor assured me, he would grow some hair!

I let the car payment go. That was the least of the things we could give up and still make other ends meet. I kept this from my husband, for he was doing all he could and worrying him would not help any. One day, I decided that the finance company should be coming to pick the new car up any day. How could I tell Jerry?  I remember going into our unpaid for bedroom, lying  the baby on the bed and kneeling down beside the bed to pray. This was my first miracle request to Jesus not knowing if He
answered such a need as this. He sure didn't get us in that shape and I just didn't know.  Grandma wasn't around  to pray for or with me.

I remember pouring my heart out before God as I never had before. The baby remaining still and quiet. I cried tears and blew bubbles filling a dish towel soaking wet. When I finished with that prayer, I knew it felt different for me inside, I picked the baby up from the bed, closed the door and said out loud, "Lord, I am leaving this in here for You to handle, I will accept whatever You do, just take this worry from me."  Still assuming the finance company would be driving it off, but take the worry from me. Once about a hour later, washing dishes, the thought entered my mind about
the car and worry.  I said out loud, get out of here satan, I have given that to Jesus.  I went to singing and did not worry.

Within two or three hours after closing that door to the prayer, the phone rang. It was the finance company. I had composed myself to tell them to come on and get it, instead they said, "Mrs. Moody, we here at Ford have just been reviewing your husbands record and wanted to know if you guys
could pay twenty-six dollars at a near by dealership, bringing the status of the payments current and giving us a month to make the next due  payment?"  Could we!! I cried tears of joy.  I was so emotional
I forgot to ask the man on the other end of the phone how Jesus worked it out that they decided to do that for us. To this day I do not know.  Some may look at this and say, timing, it just happened.  I say to them, no.  We never heard of paying interest then, 1968, deferred payments were unheard of, to our knowledge.
At that point I became aware of what my Grandmother meant with many of her remarks about Jesus being a personal Savior and answering all our needs, if we REALLY GIVE IT to HIM. That was  the beginning of myunderstanding of the power of Jesus for us on earth today. It was the first miracle to us from Him. I prayed and wept  with  a
heavy heart and He answered , for He loves us and wants us to give our heavy burdens to Him to bear.

Just a side note: my most recent miracle. He removed a tumor from my esophagus/stomach area. Completely removed it, suspect cancerous.
My chances were  fifty-fifty, suspect on the low side, confirmed by doctors and two seperate hospitals, yet when the doctor went it to look around and get a snip, "it wasn't there, it was gone"!! Jesus just removed the whole thing. amen.

ellie, Sunshine, Septsong, Bonnie, Jester and Rebecca, thank you for reading and responding. Each one of you bless me with your poems and kind words. This testimony was just my small way of saying, thank you Jesus for all the answers you have sent and to encourage others to know Jesus doesn't love one more than another, what He has done for me (or you), He will do for all. Thanks for making this forum a place of peace and love and putting God in His rightful place, a place of love and worship to Him.  Blessings, Marcy
