Do you at times feel helpless
Like a ship against the tide?
You feel the darkened waters
Constant crashing 'gainst the side?

You're in tumultuous waters
You have been tossed to and fro
Your thoughts are turning frantic
And the tides to strong to row

You're out in the great open
At the mercy of the sea
And suddenly you're feeling
All your inadequecies

Feeling so awfully helpless
Forces out of your control
For they are so much bigger
Without help, affect your soul

There is one force that's greater
That is stronger than the rest
It is our Lord Almighty
For solutions, He's the best

When you're feeling tossed about
And your future's looking bleak
May it be God you call for
And the first one that you seek

For He's the greatest calmer
Greatest peace you'll ever find
When our own understanding
Leads us in these waters blind

He is always there for us
We need give control to Him
And let the Lord take over
When you're just too tired to swim

For He is your protector
Safely carry you ashore
So call on Him and trust Him
Let His love for you outpour

Yes, I feel lost a lot, but they tell me it's age.    Seriously, your writing carries a great deal of wisdom...the losing battle never includes God. We realize, like Peter, it's our lack of faith that causes us to sink when we've done all we can humanly do.  Thank you for sharing this insight.

Simply beautiful, and reminds me of the sermon I heard yesterday about Paul when he was a prisoner on his way to Rome and the ship was about to wreak and they started throwing the cargo overboard, and things began to get so bad, that they wanted to get in lifeboats but Paul told them Unless they stayed with the ship they couldn't be saved, and this they did and all were saved. Acts 27 a real good comparison to your poem.

Yes at times I do feel ost at see- turned around and confused, But thank God, these are only brief episodes in my life before the Lord & faith take over.  You poem here is very inspirational and encouraging--one that I can relate to.  Thank You Rebecca,

Thank you all so very much! I actually was inspired by music today. I heard the first 2 lines in a song, and wrote them down. Then came home and prayed that it could be for the Glory of God. And this is what was produced. So my thanks to God and all you! I'm glad it touched you all like it did.

Rebecca dear, this was so absolutely beautiful! There are no words I can find to describe how this is so beautiful and how it touched me.  So I wont try and find them, I will just say God bless you and be on my way!

Wow Rebecca - This is such a beautifully written piece of inspiration.  I'm with Grandma Amy, just can't find the right words. Somehow we're going to have to make up some that will justify this...but for lack of something better.... simply lovely.  Bonnie
