Please read "over" the spelling mistakes... This was done while I went on a "trip" throught memory lane.. A.

I met a spirit being badly hurt,
I saw it lying, face down to the dirt.
I offered a hand and I asked if I could offer assistance
But this spirit just looked at me in pain and resistance...

Not knowing what else is left to do,
I asked the spirit if I could lei down next to it too,
Once again it just stared, and did not reply,
and I felt myself hurting, and feeling kind of shy.

Then in a voice, ever so soft and in pain,
The spirit asked me if I blieve myself to be vain.
I told him I dont think so, not one bit,
He then said to me,"Dear child, you MUST sit".

I kneeled next to him, now holding a straight pose,
And I saw that his eyes were shut tight, closed.
I asked if he did not want to see my face,
And he said:" I know it well, every trace"

I then asked him how he got hurt,
And why is his face covered in dirt?
He look at me, eyes still closed,
He said:"Let me tell you about my life up to now,
and I am sure you will find the answer somehow"

The story was long, and ever so sad,
Yet sometimes it reminded me of the life I had.
I then looked at him and I asked:"If I may,
Is this my story up untill today?"
He nodded at me and I can see the pain disapear,
He nodded at me and I had a feeling, odd and queer.

He then said to me that no matter my pain,
That as long as I live I should never be vain,
For the spirit I hurt is not another's alone,
But most likely my very spirit, yes, my own.

I do not remember him to leave,
I do not remember another thing.
I sat there that day and asked to be forgiven,
by not only other's, but by the spirit of myself, the one that is living...

I used to be vain, I never thought,
But all of that brought me happiness? NAUGHT!!
My spirit now has healed and recovered,
And I thank the Godess for what I have discovered!!

Now I can be, like my spirit's hurting face,
Close to the earth, a mighty nice place!!
I live my days and see all around,
And when vanity lurks, I smile and say:
"My spirit won't hurt, never, not for a day"

So to all who read this, I beg and pray,
That when you find your spirit, lying with his face in the dirt,
Just remember that THAT is not the reason for the pain and hurt.

Bend down on your knees, and go down next to his face,
Close to the earth, WHAT A MIGHTY NICE PLACE!!

What greater message than that of humility.
Wow, how humble your spirit and a lesson to learn, not me but Thee, Lord. Great thoughts, forget the spelling, send more!! Marcy
