I cast my eyes to the earth
Peer beyond my feet to the soil
Which now holds your heart
And your body sick
I know you're happier now
Much like those old days
When I had faith
That you would love me each new day
Like the one before
Mom, wind surrounds me now
I would have liked you here
Your death is a teacher
On coping unbearable pain
And I am learning still
Like I always will
I often breathe
The cemetaries atmosphere
I look upon the name
My name
Etched on your stone
I was your daughter
I am your daughter
You abandoned me
But against your will
You left me a new best friend though
Promised me he'd always be there
To teach me a new way of life
To heal this heart
Bruised, broken, and red
But, mom, I feel as though he has left me
I don't like to be alone
I don't like to cry
I hate to mourn
What do I do when there is no one
And it is my own fault?
You were the only one to teach me
How to keep my new best friend
Why is it only you I could allow
Reality has shot through me
Like a bullet through the air
Mom, please send this
As a letter
As a prayer
To my old best friend
I want to get to know him
To be blessed by his sacrafice
To for ONCE
Feel peace in my life
To understand the meaning of joy
Because ever since that grave
Captured your soul
It took away my happiness too
And locked it up
And buried the key
And now...
I am alone
Please mom, one more wish...
Help him - help me - lead me back to you...

Dear kari,
My, My. Your poem has touched me deeply. I feel your pain and I am sorry for you. He
hasn't left you though, kari, just keep the
faith, knowing Mom is really safe with Him.
She would not want you to be this grieved, although the pain is unbearable at times, just talk to the Lord, even when you can not feel Him, He IS there for you. Blessings, marcy

Dear Kari; Oh my  I feel this pain of yours! Don't give up begging Jesus to ease your pain, because He will, I promise. He got me out of the dark pit that I was in, and now I can hardly remember it! You are in my prayers and I'm a mom, so if you need one my e-mail is ellie2744@hotmail.com, We can chat. Love, Ellie

This is heartwrenching! I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom! It is us who walks away, but all we have to do is reach out and call His name. He is there and ready and willing to take us in His arms.

Just talk to Him, you don't need letters and rest assured your Mom is in a beautiful place and watching you grow. He loves you no matter what.

I will also extend an ear if you need to talk.  I am also a mother and know your Mom wouldn't want you to be so unhappy. If you need someone to talk to feel free to email me anytime.  WhtDove377@aol.com

God bless you through your grief.

Oh Kari - How sadly beautiful this poem is.  It has touched my heart in many ways.  Please know where your Mom is, and know too that He, is right there with you.  It's been many years since my Mom left, but, after a while the memories will become most precious, and you'll find peace knowing she's singing with the angels.  Bonnie

This is such a touching personal piece of writing, God does hear and he understands your grief, and he will never leave you or forsake you, all he asks that we reach out to him and open the door, and you have done so with this letter. Continue to talk to him, and he will give you peace. I have been in a similar situation. Peace and Love..
