FOLLOW A BLESSING

Today I decided
I would follow a blessing along its way
that coat across the woman's arm
was dropped off at the rummage sale today

A mom with little money stepped into the sale
purchased the coat for a dollar bill
the coat went home to her little girl
who's body the coat did fill

The little girl saw on the lining
given away by Jamie Lynn
and in school she wrote a poem
that would let this blessing begin

I was cold and crying
but I prayed to God you see
and mommy brought home Jamie Lynn's coat
a gift from God given to me

As the teacher brushed her tears away
she said"I'll go home and give away what I don't need
I'll have a yard sale give away
I'll follow Jamie Lynn's lead

All is free take what you want
is what the teacher's sign read
a febble little woman stopped
took a pink blanket for her bed

What a lovely jester
the little woman thought
I'll go home and bake cookies
give them away free none to be bought

Here are some cookies
eat as many as you like
the little boy smelled the aroma
stopped and parked his bike

Thank you for the cookies Miss
I thought of my grandma as I ate seven
she died two years ago
you see God took her to heaven

I think I'll go see grandpa
so I can tell him I love him today
I know he misses grandma
maybe a kiss and hug will brighten his day

You see one little blessing
can grow into a mighty tree
with tons and tons of sharing branches
when giving from the heart comes so free

So won't you share a blessing today
start the wheel of giving to spin around
I'm sure even if you can't see it
thousands will be created by yours and each one found

Rose Mary; Yhis is so lovely. Even a smile given freely is contageous. You've done a wonderful job of reminding us all that one gesture of kindness can go a long way. Ellie

This is great! A wonderful reminder too. Just one smile to the right person can start a chain reaction.

Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
