I Want You To Know

A brief moment of darkness
was all that I knew,
before Heaven's Gate
came into my view.

Loved ones and friends
I had missed for many years,
welcomed me with open arms
and many happy tears.

All the hurt, fear and pain
that I have ever known,
is gone from my life,
I am finally home.

I gazed upon the Lord's
sweet smiling face,
and for the first time in my life
I knew and felt His grace.

I know that you miss me,
but please dry your eyes.
I will always be watching and loving you
from my home in the sky.

A cool breeze on your face,
a touch of light rain,
I will send as a reminder
that we will be reunited again.

Life on earth is but one
brief moment in time,
I am finally home,
Eternity is mine.

I thought you all might like this.  This is the only other one I have written

Angela,
This is a beautiful expression of the hope that we all share, experiencing Heavens blessings, being united with loved ones and see our Savior face to face.  Your concern for those left behind and the hope of a future reunion with them is so sweet. I'm looking forward to more of your work here.

Dennis

Thanks so much.  I'm really glad you like it.  Having experienced my own losses, and seeing the pain of others who have, is what prompted me to write these poems.  "Of course we all know who really prompted me - The Lord"  I have one other poem here called "My Child - Wher eHave You gone" which is also about the death of a loved one.  Thanks again for taking time to read this.  I really appreciate it    God Bless You.   Angela

Angela, This is just beautiful.  What a picture you have painted of a great reunion. I have experienced many losses too, and this serves as a comforting reminder of where they all are, and what's yet to come.  Bonnie

I just want to say thanks to all of you that have taken the time to read this.  Your positive feedback has made this a really wonderful experience.  Finding this particular forum, "Spiritual", has made it even better.  It is really comforting to talk with people that share my feelings about our Lord.  Thanks again and God Bless

Like it? I love it! It's very comforting to those who might have lost loved ones.  Not all the time do they think of them in a glorious place. It's a great reminder or lesson that let's people know we'll see our loved ones again someday.  I hope you get more inspiration to write some more poems for us. I'd love to read them.

This also reminds me if you don't mind, of a poem found in a newspaper. I read it at my Grandmother's funeral.

God looked around His garden
And He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth,
And He saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw that the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

WhtDove

I absolutely loved that poem.  It was really beautiful.  It brings such a vivid picture to my mind.  It also reminds me that death is supposed to be a blessing, even though it doesn't seem that way

Thanks for sharing that with me.  Angela
