Let me rest amongst these lichened souls that
stand where trees once stood,

My greens break into blacky-blues and dragonflies
and the sounds of beetle truth remind me of the rings I grew.

Let me rest amongst the salmonberry and the tumblewood
of cotton, ash and hemlock, fir and cedar.

And let the wind stir of pine above the fall
rewaken me in sapling dress and new reach.

Kevin,
The quest & zest of rebirth, and renewal are precious to us and help give hope, not only for ourselves, but also new sense of hope for the world round about us mourning the lost of what once was--I can identify with these sentiments, and I enjoy the imagery you used to give your message.
Especially the Springtime, like no other season, shows in an outward and beautiful, what can happen within, and what can happen in the retrival from the deadness of the world.  Yes, your poem suggests a lot of good thing to think about.  Thank you,  David

Kevin, Very deep and beautiful. "And let the wind stir of pine above the fall
rewaken me in sapling dress and new reach"

My prayer as well, rewaken or stir me, that I may reach higher levels.  Blessings, marcy

Dear Kevin; Wonderful analogy. We are new creations and, with faith, are renewed just as you so beautifully describe here. Ellie
