YOUR LITTLE BOAT

I am a little boat
out on the open wide sea
bigger ships pass right by
laughing and taunting me

What good could you be little boat
when this sea turns to rage
it will tear you apart you see
with one tiny evil wave

You have to be big strong and beautiful
to make it on this sea
lots of money must be spent
to build a gigantic ship like me

The sea giggled and rumbled
as this conversation was heard
lets test the ship and boat on my water
see whos strong enough to handle my sharpened sword

The waters started to swirl and rage
lighting and thunder were all around
the big ship was screaming I am in control
while the little boat was not making a sound

Look at that coward on his knees
the big ship laughed to her self
he should be begging me to save him
before the sea's sword is felt

Then through the darkened sky
a glow of radient light came through
shining down on the little boat
lifting him out of the waters blue

The sea battered the big ship
till it made it weak and frail
her size,beauty,money and power
couldn't keep her asail

The moral to this tale I told
is that God is in control
size,power,beauty or money
can not save even one soul

The little boat had love and faith
in the keeper of his life
so even when the waters raged around him
he knelt and prayed to Jesus Christ

The big ship was full of self
thinking material things would keep her sailing
but in the times of terrible trouble
nothing she owned could keep her from failing

So remember the words of Christ
faith as small as a mustard seed
can move your little boat from raging waters
and place you back down on a tranquil sea

This is so true, I've always been that little boat, and the sea can look so overwheming at times, but the same captain that sails the big ships can also sail the little ones, and the ocean belongs to him anyway so what do we really have to fear? I really enjoy your poems, Rose Mary..

You have a masterful and delightful message here in this poem, with it's clear moral supplied.  An excellent treatment of two very contrasting philosphies of life-showing the clear benefits of a tested & tried true faith.  Well done, Rose Mary!!!

Rose, Thanks for this poem. These words I needed to hear. With faith and love and prayer to Jesus, there is nothing left to fear. Beautifully written too. Blessings, marcy
