Emotions

Senses, systems, minds and emotions
God created all
To be trained for Godly use
until our final call
So much exists to entice and excite
luring us into sin
But the best by far is always found
closely following Him

God allows us to experience
sorrows and pleasures
Yet senses and emotions make awful
wrong and right measurers
As do smell, taste, vision
or what we've heard
For that very reason He gave us
the truth in biblical word.

Lean not on your own understanding
we're told
But on Jesus (the WORD), more precious
than gold
He is THE way, THE life and THE light
Only through the WORD, jis found
true wrong and right

Emotions are great cars
on our train
But are not meant as engines
to drive our brain
Imagine how poorly we'd eat
emotionally driven
And all the temptations
to which we'd give in.

dear S; Wonderfu poem, and a reminder that is always needed. If Jesus is in control of all those emotions, we're free. If not then we're slaves to them!
Great message of wisdom and truth, as usual, you've done a beutiful job here. Love, Ellie

I love this! So true, as ellie said, that when our emotions are in God's hands we are free.

May I add my amen to your wise and wonderful poetic exhortation.  I think you have made the case very clear-In answer to a recent question asked,  THIS IS EXCELLENT!!
But I don't want to short change it for it is also excellent counsel for us all-spoken in true wisdom and graciousness.  Thank you so much for sharing it with us all.

Really like this wisdom you so lovenly found the right words to give out the right dose. Emotions are a blessing but they can be a curse if we let them. I am constantly learning that lesson.
