Radars

I have these little radars
from all thats good and bad.
For my little radars
repeat the things I've said.

Sometimes, these little radars
bring joy unto my soul,
other times I squint my face
as they repeat,
things that I've told.

Oh, my little radars,
God's gift to only me,
for they detect my good and bad
unknown to them in deeds.

They repeat with feedback,
the corrections I must make.
God bless my little radars,
each with a name,
Jim, Tyler and Shelby
My little radar gang.

Dear Alle: this is so cute! "out of the mouths of babes", they don't let us get away with a thing! I love this poem, Alle. A light touch that we all need, thanks. Ellie

true how children reflect their parents.(at least while their young!)
like you said, " they repeat with feedback"
wow, i never thought of them that way, as radars!
you always have a great way of opening my eyes with your metaphors. keep it up, i pray for wisdom, and prayers are answered in mysterious ways sometimes.
great work!

Marcy,
You're such a sweet girl! Which one of those little radar's was at Grandma's for repairs today? You're a pure-heart Marci, keep 'em coming!

Dear Marcy,
We would like to think that others only perceive as we would like to be seen--but God's radar Protection system, which comes in various sizes & styles, do give back important feedback to help give us a reality check, to both encourage us , to warn us, and to keep us humble--that's quite a system.  Your poem was whimsically delightful-with an important message included.
         Thank you,  David

These God given radars reveal so much we become oblivious to.  Your writing put this across in a delightful way.  Thank you.

Thanks to all who replied. There is a ugly side to this I want to share. Jim (9) & Tyler (4) were playing "ridem' cowboy" in the van on a trip to town. Ty stopped playing for Jim was too rough. Then Jim said, Ty, come on play, pretend I am your dog. Ty hops down from the van seat and kicks the fire out of Jim. (ugly side) When the dog plays too rough with Ty, I have said, "just kick the fire out of him". I have changed my song and dance concerning Tyler and the dog. Bless  you all, Marcy
