Each Garden needs
a boundary,
made of stone
or made of wood,
less the loveliness
be tred upon,
thus crushing beauty
God has made.

So this soul
needs His Grace
to build those
boundaries,
deep and wide
and strong,
that I might safely be
tucked neath His Wings
so safe.
Safe from worldly pain.

Set free to be discerning,
set free to be at peace.

Before the wounds grew
deeper,
with each barb from those
uncaring.
Wide open to the arrows
slung,
by those I held most dear.

Now the boundaries
of Grace,
allow my feelings free,
to gaze upon the enemy
with heartfelt understanding
of their wounds,
instead of mine.

Wow Ellie. It seems we are always on the same wave length. We must really be kindred spirits. I just wrote Flowers from the enemy, before I read this. It has the same meaning. Even though we hurt, there is pain everywhere, and God gives us the strength to endure and overcome to see the pain in others. Thru compassion we heal! I love it. True sister in faith.

Ellie - After reading Regina's response, it seems that the 3 of us are really in tune these days.  What a beautiful analogy, the "boundaries of grace" sound so much softer than the old, dark walls.  I love this, and will be thinking of it often, as those arrows continue to be fired.  Thanks so much for this.   Bonnie

ellie, How you can lay your heart open in humbleness and such a beautiful heart you have. The pain inflected by the ones we love
hurts the deepest but God gives grace and understanding to a heart such as yours, He has remove the scares of the barb, the fault not being yours replace with understanding as you nest within His wing. Thanks for reminding me to guard the words I speak to the ones I love. I really like what you said to me. God Bless, Marcy

the picture you've painted in my minds canvas displays glorious walls of incomprehensable beauty surrounding a bountiful garden arrayed with splendid fruits that grew from the seeds god has sown. its a wonderful image with significant
personal revelation. the magnifiscent walls are built by gods own hand to protect the fruit we love and desire, the fruit of the spirit. with his glorious hedge, he prevents our fruit from being trodden on or stolen, so that we may always enjoy it.as his children, he gives us the best to be had, thus the fruits are more choice than any in all creation.

ELLIE- it is good to know our limits and to set boundaries , especially so that we don't trample under foot the sacred things of Life.  Your's is a point well taken--thank you,   David

Ellie we sure are a people that needs boundaries. Even though we overstep them all, that's what makes us stop and look and know, and learn lessons. Thank you for such a thought provoker in me tonight

Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
