As a child growing up,
I never felt loved.
Except by my grandmother.
My Mom and Dad were too
angry.

It took years of healing,
by You, my Lord,
to finally feel worthy
of being loved.

I couldn't let it in,
until you healed the
wound,
and shattered the walls
I had built so carefully
to protect this heart
from more pain.

Now the wonder of it all!
Knowing who I am.
The feeling of being loved.
Empowered to love as You
love.
Knowing
Peace
Joy
Clarity
Wonder
and Forgiveness
Knowing Jesus LIVES
in me.

ellie, How open and humble you present your love for the Lord and have that love in your heart and is shown to all. Thank you for your poems and words of wisdom, this will probably help someone else who is at the same place you were once, not to wait, start healing now. Bless you ellie, Marcy

ELLIE,
I am touched by your personal sharing of a less than glamorous past, and your feelings of misgiving because of such.  But I am so glad, and feel personally blessed that Jesus has had such a healing impact on your life- and from your pain, and your seeing the importance & impact of that Love--have been one Loving souls- bringing Joy, warmth, and hope to the lives of others who have missed it elsewhere.  God bless you in that radiant glow of Divine Love,   David

Oh Ellie - How beautifully you tell of your journey.  This one really hits home with me, I'm still not sure all of the walls are down. But, each time I read another of your sweet poems, I find a little more inspiration to stick with it and chisel away.  What a tender heart you have.  Bonnie

Ellie,

Thank you for showing us yourself, vulnerabilities, fears, feelings, etc..

And the expression of your love and faith -
It shines radiantly through you!

God Bless!
