The fabric of our morality,
Is comming apart at the seams,
The heartbreak of this reality,
Cast aside immortal dreams.

Our nation once stood erect,
"Under GOD" our moto said,
We now find GOD without respect,
For many say HE's dead.

The sanctity of human life,
No longer our chosen portion,
Only adds to our strife,
Allowing Euthanasia and Abortion.

We're told we must be tolerant,
That we must never judge,
Let the ungodly run rampant,
And never voice a grudge.

But a day of Judgement will appear,
As will an Un-dead GOD,
Whose voice sinful nations hear,
When HE smites them with a Rod!

Oh GOD I pray with contrite heart,
Forgive my nations deeds,
May from her wickedness soon depart,
And seek YOU for her needs.

Dear Brother,
You said a mouthful & a heartful here. We need to be very concerned for our wayward nation-and hope it will go to it's knees in repentance & renewal--before it goes to it's knees in sin's utter defeat.  Thank you for this timely message & prayer for our nation.        David

Dennis; this is a chilling reminder how very much we all need to witness our faith and increase our prayers for our country. Mother Theresa once told a rich American volunteer, who had come to help her in Calcutta, to go home, because the spiritual poverty in this country was the neediest in all the world, and to spend his time witnessing his faith here. Very well written. Ellie

Very intriguing and well written.

While I disagree with the moral of the poem, I find it very powerful and, were I more easily swayed, convincing. It is fascinating to see views that conflict with mine expressed in the language I adore: poetry. It sort of shows me that we're not all that different. We may have different thoughts but we display them similarly.

If only all debates were held in rhyme. Life would be much more interesting.

Oh, by the way... at the risk of sounding naive (which I can assure you I am in many ways) what is Euthanasia?

I don't watch the news anymore! It hurts so much to see the Nation crumble. Pray hard is all I can say. I appreciate and admire your words of truth. If you get cancer, no matter how faithful you are to God, worry will cross your mind. The whole world has cancer is how I see it. Some don't give the problems a second thought. Christ is the only cure! But I still worry, only because my children will inherit the disease soon enough. I pray for all the youth. We aren't leaving them much.
Sincerely,
Rwood

Amen, you have touched on a subject very close to my own heart. God continue to forgive us and our prayer is we come back to God not continue pushing Him out of our laws, schools, state and government. But for a  righteous few, Lord, will you extend mercy?  God Bless, Marcy

Thank you for your thoughtful responses to this poem.

7, Euthanasis is the practice of ending the life of an individual suffering from a terminal illness or an incurable condition,
taken to the extreme it is the elimination of the old and "unproductive" members of a society. Thank you for your candid comments.

This poem was not written to offend anyone but rather voice concerns of my heart, God bless you all and please pray our our nation.

Dennis I haven't seen you in a while and wow what a comeback!

You've expressed the views of many I'm sure!
It has gone to hell that's for sure. Kids running loose and no correction, don't judge, certainly that doesn't mean speaking out and teaching people right from wrong.

Excellent work Dennis!

Dennis,
I just found your poem, and I couldn't agree more with you. You stated it concisely, and passionately. Well done.
