Well Lord, another beautiful day,
Time for me to get busy outside,
I'll put on my play clothes and head out the door,
Unearthing the beauty You hide.
Like Your love, I need only move some dirt,
To find a newly formed bud,
It's there so patiently waiting for me,
To simply dispense of the mud.
Sweet lilies of the valley,
Seem to be a sign from You,
Their little bells of purest white,
Sparkling with fresh fallen dew.
I can almost hear the whisper,
Of Your most gentle voice,
Saying "tend the garden in your heart,
I'm here, it's time to rejoice."
Between the rose bush and picket fence,
A magnificent spider's web,
My least favorite creature of all You have made,
But somehow I don't feel the dread.
The primrose with blossoms now wilting,
Leaving ruffled greens behind,
Create their own special beauty,
Of the plain and simple kind.
As I look at the delicate pansies,
I can see the touch of Your grace,
Every velvet petal,
As soft as Your sweet face.
The mulch strategically mounded,
To keep them all weed free,
Yet letting the sunlight warm them,
As the light of Your love warms me.
Oh yes Lord, no doubt You are out here,
Amongst the daisies and one tiny mum,
And when my soul needs refreshment,
It's to Your garden I'll come.

Oh, Bonnie; "as soft as youe sweet Face"!
How perfectly lovely is this poem. The place we are closest to God is in a garden. I really believe that too. I'll think of you when I'm planting this week-end. You are so gifted, this poem is a work of art in words! Love, Ellie

Bonnie,
I am not a gardener, I do not possess a green thumb--but your poem is so appealing- so beautiful, and a beautiful analogy to the garden of our hearts.  You have susch a way with words. I am constantlyu awed by your powerful presentations.  God bless you & your Garden, Both of them,  David< !signature-->

Hey Bonnie. I'm so glad your garden grows his way! Your verse is so tender. I've missed your uplifting and simple reminders of sweetness. God bless your heart and everthing that grows in and around it!
Sincerely,
Regina

Bonnie I don't know how to describe this.
Pure beauty! I love the outdoors, though I can't say I'm much of a gardener either. But I love to work outside.

I love this line..."tend the garden in your heart.
We forget to do that!

I love this poem!!!!

as many times as the bible refers to sewing,
reaping and the harvest, your poem is very appropriate and relatively true. i really enjoyed the vivid imagery your poem inspired in my heart. great work!
