An Easter Egg For Jesus
~*Marge Tindal*~

Frilly dresses,
Little bow ties,
Colored eggs hidden all over the lawn.
Baskets in hand,
Scurrying to get it done.

Find the one that has my name,
No other one would do.
Mom and Dad knew just where to place them
and just where to point me to.

Hurry, hurry !
Find 'em quick as you can.
Cause when they've all been found,
we can do it all over again.

Tiny little Easter eggs
scattered about the lawn.
Pretty frilly dresses
my sister and I put on.

Mommy and Daddy hid the eggs
as carefully as they could
then they help us find them
that was really good.

Easter baskets filled
with candy
And lots of toys
that we thought were dandy.

We headed off to church
after the hunt was done.
For the real reason for Easter
is celebrating Jesus, the Son.

And with mighty reverence
we learned about God's love.
He sent His Son to die for our sins
and then to rise above.

Mom said it's okay
to do the bunny thing
as long as we remember,
Jesus is the King.

I took one Easter egg
and colored it in a special way.
I hid it in my heart
for Jesus to find every day.

It's wrapped in love
and written on it is His name.
It's deep within my heart
and I am glad He came.

Marge, So tenderly written.  I can see the little ones searching, dressed in their Easter finery.  Have a wonderful Easter. Bonnie

Marge, how precious this is.  All children need weaned from the Easter bunny and Santa to the reality of Jesus, our loving Savior, and it seems that weaning is sadly missing in far too many homes today.  What wonderful, believing parents you were blessed with!

your poem evokes many memories of Easter, and gives a touching message of devotion too.  This one even feels GOOD!!!  David

Marge,

You spoke to me once again.  Such a wonderful poem!  Truly shows the meaning of Easter.  May God bless you as you continue to write.  I can see the children as they search for the Easter eggs, yet grow up to search for the true meaning of Easter.  And even the little ones who search for Jesus.  Thank you for this poem.

SandGrain~
If we can just fill their hearts with the message that Jesus is alive (and may be hiding in your Easter basket) we can rest assured that they will carry the message forward.

I'm a big believer in the youth of today.
God will 'wean' them - with our help
and our love.

David~
I truly thank you for your words of enthusiasm for this render.
I think that we need to teach our little
ones that Jesus is the reason we can believe
in the Easter Bunny.  With mine ... we never had an Easter egg hunt that didn't include our Jesus egg ... the child who found it was the 'special' child for the day.
This mom still smiles at the 'halo' shines we were blessed with.

Amy~
Thank you, dear.
I'm pleased to have touched you with my messages of love.
