Hello my friends, I'm Cleopas
And do I have a story for you!
I know it will sound quite fantastic--
But I sware, every word is true!

I had a most amazing experience
As a friend and I, to Emmas went,
On the trek 7 miles from Jerusalem
Our walk with conversation was spent.

There was so much going on those days
And as we talked, another joined us in the way,
We were voicing our sad disappointments
And he seemed quite intrigued by what we'd say.

We really had been disheartened
For things were turning out so bad,
He asked us what we were talking about
What was it that made us so sad?

I found his questions astounding
And I believe that I told him so,
"Are you the only one in Jerusalem"-I said
"Of what has happened--doesn't know?"

The stranger asked further, "What things?"
So to him we sought to explain,
There was this Jesus of Nazareth
A mighty Prophet who to us Jews came.

But our Chief priests and the rulers felt threatened
And condemned him to be crucified,
We were really hoping He'd come to redeem us
As the Messiah, for which we all sighed!

Now three days have past since his dying
And certian Women, at his tomb arrived,
Found not his body, but angelic vision
Saying he was not dead, but alive.

Who could believe such hysterical women?
So Certian brethren did check it out,
And yes, the tomb was now empty--
The women were right, that about!

But at this point, the stranger took over
And the conversation did take quite a turn,
As he focused upon Sacred Writtings
And our slowness to believe and learn.

He spoke to us of the Messiah
Of His suffering--(just like our story),
Be he furthermore indicated
The Messiah would then enter His glory!

Of Moses, the Prophets and Holy Scriptures
He said of all of such, this is the sum:
These passages fortell of the Messiah
And of the things he would do when he comes.

Engrossed in his wonderous discussion
The miles and the time passed away,
So we invited Him to come and stay with us
But he acted as further, he'd assay.

"You can't go, it's getting late", we told him
And constrained him to join us at meat,
And when we sat down at the table
He continued in the dominate seat.

He took of the bread, blest and brake it
And we Knew then and there we were wrong,
For we saw He was the New Risen Savior--
Who instantaneously vanished,and was gone!

As my friend and I reflected on our experience
How we felt as He shared from the Word!
Our hearts seemed to burn within us
As those enlightening words were heard!

In a flash we both had decided
Back to Jerusalem--this we must do!
The apostles and others were meeting
Where we heard Simon had seen Him too!

And so with them we shared our story
The same one as what I just said,
How He joined us while we we awalking
And we knew Him, in the breaking of bread.

And I know that few would have believed us
Thought us mad, but He then did reappear,
And stood in the midst of the gathering
And said,"Peace to you, do not fear!"

So I will go down here on record
I know Jesus is alive, God be praised!
For I have seen Him Twice, with mine own eyes--
And I know for a fact--He's been raised!!

(NOTE:  The scriptural account of this can be found in LUKE 24:13-36)

I can repeat what was said above, for lack of something more to say. You really made this come alive. I felt as I walking the road with them. Great work David!

Dear David,
You've done it again. You are so blessed by God, in your interpretation of the scripture.
Keep up the great work!
