You saw the sorry state of man
The punishment he faced
In pity You devised a plan
-Sin’s debt Your blood erased.

Upon my face I seek You, Lord
Your servant in disgrace
Your word ‘tis true a mighty sword
-Heart pierced I seek Your grace.

So quick to judge, forgiveness slow
This heart please cleanse, I pray
Your gentle love help me to show
-To all along my way.

Too much my mind dwells on myself
For fading things I lust
Too long Your Book sits on my shelf
-Collecting webs of dust.

Refreshing Spring please satiate
This parched and barren land
Restore again that blissful state
-Bestowed by Your own hand.

O, Sovereign God, Exalted King
Before Your throne I bow
Forevermore my soul shall sing
-The mercies You endow.

Dear Denise; Perfect surrender, no wonder you're so lovely, His light shines through every word you write, like a beacon to all who read your words. Love, Ellie
