I had to go to the Dentist
And it was all my fault,
If I hadn't been so irresponsible
I wouldn't be so "down in the mouth!"

This pain I brought upon me
So I really can't complain,
I knew better, but failed myself
So I am the one to blame!

And now I go to another
To have this decay removed,
He can help the pain to  subside--
But I'll be less, one tooth.

As distasteful as this incident is
A lesson from this, I must learn,
Which I can also apply to my life
(When that which is right has been spurned).

I had to go to the Savior
Because I had chosen to sin,
And my soul was greatly aching
But it wasn't because of Him.

My Guilt, I brought upon me
I must own up to my own shame,
For it was of my own doing
But thank God, for me, Jesus came!

And now I have Him to flee to
"The Rock that is Higher than I,"
He alone can remove my corruption
This sin and this guilt, I despise!

Yes, Jesus is the Great Fixer
But whenever I go astray,
I'm giving up a part of me--
I'm not all here, what can I say?

Why must I wait 'til the Pain kicks in
Before I see need to take action?
I help not myself-by letting it go
'Til I'm in a state of Distraction!

Sometimes Life's Lessons are painful
Maybe our attention to gain,
To make us rethink our negligence
And to teach us to avoid needless pain!

Hi David,
He is truly a lovely Savior, who always extends His arms wide open, awaiting us to give Him our fleshly sins and be refreshed in our hearts and souls. The beauty of the cross. Sorry 'bout your tooth though. Marcy
