There he glides
wings spread
no effort
soaring
smooth
thermals guiding
supporting
utter freedom
supreme oneness

As I watched that
hawk,
this windy April
noon,
as his wings were
spread full,
and he glided in
the thermals
with perfect freedom
and utter oneness
with nature
and the universe.

Just as a soul
becomes
one with God.
Once we learn to stop
flapping our wings
and let go
trusting that the winds
of grace
and His loving arms
will set us free
to soar
above the baser things
into knowing
Loves freedom
and the joy of eternal
flight.

Ellie, another beautiful poem.
What a great way to compare nature to faith!

God bless!

Ellie, I am forever amazed at the many things of spiritual significance, you are constantly able to percieve in the natural realm.  What awonderful ability, not unlike Jesus own use of the natural to teach the spiritual lessons in the Parables.  Keep 'em coming--they are good applications & wonderful messages that you are sharing with us.    David< !signature-->
