Bearing gifts
The brothers returned to Egypt
And presented themselves to Joseph
When Joseph saw Benjamin was with them
He told the steward of his house
Take these men to my house
Slaughter an animal
Prepare dinner
They are to eat with me at noon.

When the men arrived at Joseph's house
They were frightened
As they were thinking
They were being brought there
Because of the silver
That was put back in their sacks
Not realizing he was Joseph
They though he was going to
Overpower them and
Seize them for slaves
Confiscate their donkeys.

When they came to the entrance of the house
They spoke to the steward
Telling him of the silver
They had found in their sacks
And of the additional silver they had brought

"Do not be afraid," the steward said
"Your God, the God of your father,
Has given you treasure in your sack.
I received your silver,"
Then he presented Simon to them.

Bringing them into Joseph's home
He gave them water to wash their feet
And provided fodder for thier donkeys.

When Joseph came home,
The brothers, presented him the gifts
Bowing down before him
To the ground.

Joseph inquired of them
How they were, asking about
Their aged father, and
Whether he was still living.

"Your servant our father,
Is still alive and well,"
They said bowing low
To pay Joseph honor.

Joseph looked toward Benjamin
His own mother's son, saying
Is this your youngest brother,
The one you told me about?"

Joseph said to Benjamin
"God be gracious to you, my son
Tears flooding to his eyes
At the sight of his brother
He hurried out of the room
Looking for a place to weep
Privately he wept

Composing himself
He washed his face
And came out saying
"Serve the food!"
