December 29th 1999 two of my dear friends we killed in a car reck. Jessica was the closest to me.I choose to write this with smiley faces for two reasons...1) Because Jessica Loved them, 2) Because of the fact that they are so silly and Childish. We were all silly and childish untill we buried our friends. I am still healing for the loss of this dear girl and my poetry is my escape.. so I wrote her this.

The day you died
the smiley faces cried

Tears rolled down their cheeks
continuing for weeks and weeks.

None of them will have a real smile
for a long long while.

The day you died
the smiley faces cried

They have no joy to spread
since the day they found out you were dead.

You were taken at just sweet sixteen.
Smiley faces find this cruel and mean.

The day you died
smiley faces cried.

They all question why.
and they continue to cry and cry.

That night in December
is a night all smiley faces will remeber.

Because the night you died
ALL the smiley faces cried.

Dear Mel; I am so sorry that you lost your dear friend at such a young age and there is no answers that can make any sense of such a tragedy. You poem is a touching tribute to your friend. I will pray that God will guide and comfort you through this terrible pain. Love, Ellie

My heart breaks for the tragic death of your friends , and for the pain you are experiencing MelBear ....
This is a very loving tribute to Jessica ....
Have you sent it to her parents ? It would probably give them comfort, knowing how much her friend cared ...
God Bless ...... and (((HUGS)))

MelBear I agree with Shannon. You should send this to her parents if you haven't already. I think they could truly appreciate this. I'm sorry to hear they're gone at such a young age. They are in a better place.
God Bless ya, this is a wonderful poem in her memory!

Dear Melbear,
I am so very sorry for your loss. It is very hard to understand why someone you love is taken. I used to get mad at God and ask Him why? I have lost many, both young and old over the years and I don't ask why any more. I like to think of them being embraced by Jesus and all of the joy they feel being with Him. I also agree with the others, that you should send it to the parents. How lucky Jessica was to have a friend like you, I'm sure that both of them are sitting with Jesus and watching over you.
May the Lord watch over you always,
Bless you,
Erie

Mel,
I am sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers for strength to recover from the pain, replacing pain with the silly memories you shared together. She would want the faces to smile again. God Bless You Sweetheart, Marcy

Thanks to all of you for commenting... It means alot to me. Thank you also for putting me in your prays but please just say a prayer for my friends. They were taken to young and to sudden. At first I blamed god, But now I relize that they were to wonderful angels and heaven couldn't stand to be deprived of them any longer. So, they went home. Alle'cram Jessica would have wanted the smiley faces to smile again... and in time they may, but I will always see the streaks left behind by the tears cried for Jessica. Their tears wern't all tears of pain they were tears of love. While Tears of pain may be washed away and never seen again love is a thing that can never go away nor be hidden. God Bless you all. thanks again for reading!
