I wrote this poem back in 96 after church. We have a young man who has slight mental retardation. This wonderful young man sings at times for our special music. At times the notes are off, but oh my, I envy his courage for just being able to sing in front of a croud of people. And I though how wonderful his voice must sound to God and all of the other voices that sing His praise.

Taste The Music

How joyful to the Lord
is the sweet nectar of a hymn.
His ears drink in every note,
as all the different flavors of voices
are blended together in a marvelous bouquet
that creates a most intoxicating sound.
And even when a sour note
is accidently spilled
into the fermentation of music
it is never bitter
to the palate of our Lord.

"The grace of the Lord be with you all."
- Rev. 22:16
"Oh that I had wings like a dove! For then I would fly away and be at rest."
- Psalm 55:6

Dear Erie; You have no idea how much this lovely, lovely poem has touched me. I am totally tone deaf and can't sing on key worth a darn. But I love music and love to sing. Your words are "music" to my ears! Love, Ellie

AMEN AND AMEN. Good chance to share. One of
my "favorite" spirtual blessing, was received as I sang and gave Jesus a love offering in prayer, silently. He showered me with His love and I remember telling Him, "if
I could just hand you a bouquet". Your poem reminded me of that special time. Thank you.

This is so special! What a way to put into rhyme. I'm sure the effort makes God smile as it did when you put this to verse

Beautiful! The most joyful noise to our Lord is what he can hear in our hearts. Thank goodness for those of us that can't carry a note.
Sincerely,
Rwood
