When will mankind start to see
Things as they really are,
And thus truly find themselves
And their true source of Power?

Must we dispel such fantasies
As that of "Might makes Right"?
Such thinking only makes for fools
Bringing on mankind a Blight!

Pleasure is not our Highest Good
For mandkind, there is so much more,
Why settle for the base delights
When your Soul, they will make poor?

Why seek to always have control
And force our will on others?
Who died and left us Potentates
Instead of Loving Brothers?

The Greatest Power we can have
Is that, not of our own,
That's found through self-denial
When we, the LORD enthrone!

Unlike our pseudo power claims
"All Power" He possesses,
True strength and power can be ours
As He, by His Spirit blesses!

Let go of selfish power plays
Which lead to sure destruction,
Humbly seek God's help above--
Give heed to Christ's instructions!

Blessed are the poor in Spirit
For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven,
And Blest be, they that Mourn--
For they'll find comfort given.

He who saves his life for self
Will lose all in exchange,
But if for Christ, he loses self
So Great will be his gain!

There is a way that seemeth right
Which in Death's way will end,
But to those who seek Strength in the LORD
His True Power He will send.

And so it all boils down to this
For Power- are you in it for Play?
Or would you rather seek and find
The LORD'S Blest Power-Way?

Dear David: This is one very strong message and filled with mighty rightouseness. I can feel the power of His strength and His enduring Love in every word. The way is narrow and your poem lights that way with beauty and conviction. You are a light that He shines to lead us all with your gift of poetry. Thank you. Love, Ellie

Amen and Amen!! As I search my heart I am reminded to say forgive me, if my words ever
confuse or offends anyone. We all serve the same God that loves us all the same. Amen, Marcy

Amen! There are no big I's and little U's in this world, tho some fail to see this. I constantly have to bring that to the attention of people I work with. So many think they gain power thru the manipulation of their titles. Unfortunately they will fail miserably in the end. When you put yourself up on a pedestal, you have a long way to go when you fall off. I'm already down here. Equal with the rest of the world. And the almighty dollar bring so many to mighty ruin. His way is the only way. God forgive us all for ever forgetting that. Amen David!
Sincerely,
Rwood

One too many power struggles, the chase of the almighty buck. Forgetful, that our way is not always thought the right way by others.  You've brought a lot of thought with this one David. Thanks!
