In the Beauties of Springtime
When things come alive,
It stands as a stark backdrop
For what does not survive.

As far as the Day is from the Night
The Spring differs from the Fall,
While many things,to life do come
'Tis not Spring time for all!

So for those trees in winter's cold
Whom to it's chill succombs,
Despite the life that's all around
The Springtime never comes.

It's something that we've witnessed
And most obvious to see,
Springtime never comes again
To the poor dead, lifeless tree!

Is there not a lesson giv'n
By Nature's illustration?
For one dead and lost in sin
For new life, there's no ocassion.

In the deadness of the flesh
Hope anew there cannot be,
For new life does not magically appear
To those dead and lifeless trees!

And if your life's not here renewed
By Grace through Faith designed,
A place in Heaven's Springtime realm
My friend, you'll never find.

From sin's death and guilt be freed
The Savior can accomplish this thing,
By your obedience to His Word
The soul to Springtime, He'll bring.

If therefore, ye be in Christ
Sin's deadness past from you,
A New Creature you can be
With all things, He makes new!

For you, the choice is yours to make
Choose Life in Christ and be,
Unlike Springtime's enigma--
That lifeless dead old tree!

Dear David; Though beautifully written and the analogy unique, this a chilling reminder of the absolute truth. A truth that too many are unwilling to believe. It is, as christians, our most important job. To, by our lifes' example, bring as many as possible to this truth. Thanks, david, as usual, well done my friend. Love, Ellie

David, as you know, I love your writings ....

Dear David. Another great thinking poem. I too have likened the seasons and the rebirth in the spring to being reborn in Christ.  I've always felt that way. The follower of Christ is awakened and renewed, while the sinner is like the annual plant and the child of God is the perennial. I love this.
Sincerely,
Rwood
