Somewhere in your courtyard I know there must reside A giant and glorious tree With leaves of waxy sheen Deeply evergreen For us to come and rest In it's shade You must celebrate the day When warm breezes touch The candle flame buds And they burst open One at a time, they unwind With sunshine, and child like Fascination Creamy white blossoms A big as dinner plates Inviting all to come and dine In their splendor Created to feed the hunger For the beautiful, the sublime I know it's not possible They were meant to be Just for this world, this life It's just a tender hint Of what's to be in eternity Wide open hearts Crisp petals of light Ivory snow sitting in the sun Their cups flowing over Sweet Magnolias On High |
