How can I thank You for all You have done,
To help me be who I used to be,
For several years it just wasn't right,
Seems I clung to the dark misery.
Only a few in the world knew this,
Actually two, just me and my friend,
It was when she kicked me out the door,
I knew I could no longer pretend;
You were always in my heart somewhere,
Buried beneath the bitter smile,
But I needed to embrace Your light,
To make my life worthwhile.
I needed to find the comfort,
That was always in Your arms,
I needed Your oh, so gentle touch,
And the magic of Your blessed charms.
I won't dwell on the time that was wasted,
I'm only living in the here and the now,
You ARE there and I am so thankful,
I will accept all You forever endow;
With all of my heart and open arms,
Your child has come back, it's true,
And every step on the rest of this walk,
Will be hand in hand with You.

As a little p.s. to end this,
I hope my friend will again let me in,
She was the only "sister" I ever knew,
I'd like to prove I am not where I've been.

so true! we so often "fall from grace" but God does love his prodigal children!!
