Mom
A wonderful woman she was
So loving and warm
Taking care of her family
Keeping them safe from a storm
Washing clothes and making beds
Making sure there are no bugs in my head
She wiped all the tears
From my childish fears
She taught me about life
Then taught me how to be a wife
She enjoyed my children with great delight
She was a strong woman
She was my shining light
As time went on the light grew dim
Then her time comes to be with Him
Oh so strong until her last breath
As strong as she was she could not fight death
Now she is gone and I am alone
No mom left to telephone
Now I am the one who needs to be strong
That’s what she was teaching me all along
Now I am a mom
Keeping my family away from harm
Teaching my children about life and love
While mom watches lovingly from above

I know I know the bug thing doesn't need to be ther but that's life.

This is so sweet!  Yes, I'm a mom and had to deal with a few bugs too.  I tell my kids when I'm gone, I pray I'll have left something good to live on.  What a heiritage she left you!

Dear Maureen,
There is something Special about a Mother's Love, and something extra special about a Special Mother's Love! It sounds as if you you were blessed with the very Best kind, and I believe, that in time, your children will say the same of you.  God Bless you,
David

Maureen - What a lovely tribute to your Mom. The "bug thing"...been there as a child and as a mother.....can't escape those little creatures.....as you said, it's all a part of life.  And it sounds like the life you and she shared was beautiful.  My Mom's been gone for almost 17 years, and I know she's still with me, guiding and helping me along....as is yours.  Thanks for sharing this, Bonnie

Dear Maureen, This is so touching. You are so blessed to have wonderful memories of such a wonderful Mom. I'm sure you will create even more and carry that forward with your own children. God bless you.
Sincerely,
Rwood
