I don't think of you as often, as I should You were the very caress of a mother You were the greatest good, I have ever known Your light and laughter and belief in me Lifted me up, above anything, I believed I could be Simply because you were, Ola A simple name, with the complexity of the universe God smiled on you, and you spread it out Like pure sunshine, you warmed my heart You thanked me, when I should have been thanking you Just because, I brought you a grandson And your magic weaved a spell, forever undone Every year at Mother's Day, Iris bloom They bloom for you, Ola In my heart, just for you You gifted me, with bulbs of every color The year before you left me The next spring, They sprang up everywhere And I, without a green thumb, knew Because you last touched them That is why they grew I place them before you, every year now Because you are the inspiration of their birth Because you are the Mother, I never deserved In loving memory of Ola Robertson, my Mother-in-God's eyes Wholeheartedly inspired by Ken Thanks Ken, for reminding me |

Oh R - What a beautiful, loving tribute you have written, and what lucky women you both were to have had each other.
