Thank you Lord, for
my failings.
I sit in the middle of all
my shortcomings.
And sometimes I beg You
to make me perfect.
Maybe my humaness,
and accepting it,
is the most perfect
part of me.
I know it makes me
realize,
Your unconditional Love.
My failings also give me
faith,
that You are doing the
healing I need.
Empathy is another gift
I wouldn't have,
if I were a perfect being.

"Your Grace is sufficient
unto the day".
Thank You Lord for imperfect me!

Always like to see your post, they always are thought provoking.  You know what a perfectionist is, a person who takes great pains and gives them to other people. So he isn't perfect after all no matter how hard he tries.  I am far from it, a reflection of God's love is my aim, and even that falls short many times.

Ellie I can't say enough about your poetry. It is through our weakness that He works!
God Bless you Ellie!

Dear Ellie,
This was a poem I could relate to, the only thing that I am personally perfect in, other than in Christ, through His perfection is in my imperfection. And yet I am constantly reminded of God love and caring for me inspite of my lackings and because of my lackings1  Thank you for the reminder,   David

Perfectly aspiring to his perfect love, in all our human ways. You are so dedicated and accepting. I admire you Ellie. Your examples are priceless. Thank you so much!

Ellie, this was super.  Of course I'm imperfect (obvious) but never thought of it in such a beautiful way.  We are to be thankful in all things, and I'm certain there's not a person who can't relate to this well written piece.  Thank you.

Ellie you are someone i really look up to, you know that? You are so honest and thoughtful and humble and bend your ways to the Lord, and write such good poetry! Not to mention being such a supportive and loving friend to all of us here, i just had to get that all out.  I loved this poem, it actually is something i've been thinking about after a sermon we had on perfection.  Isn't it funny how God will press something into your heart in various ways, He's used this poem as one of those ways.  Thanks Ellie, for reminding us that being imperfect allows God to get the glory, and that we are changing from glory to glory.  Always something to achieve eh?  Great stuff!  Bless you hon.

Ellie, Your observations are quite astute,
if we were perfect, what need would we have for a Savior?  If we were perfect, we would have no need of a loving God. Thanks be to God that we recognize our imperfections and the need for a true relationship with our Creator, and Giver of Life. To God be the Glory! Your post touched this needy soul. Thanks. Dennis :^)
