(This is in answer to a request by my friend,Ellie,-- a poem based on John 12:36) Jesus taught His disciples And spoken to you and me, That we should take advantage Of HIS LIGHT which we see. Himself, He made available For all the World to see, In coming to the lowly world Of sinful humanity. He is the True Light of the World And by His Light we can know, The true enlightenment of our lives In Him shines Love's Perfect Glow. But if we fail His Light to receive In Darkness we will remain, And it will be unto us Just as if, He never came! He said "Walk in the Light 'Lest Darkness overtake," And by such, you'll stumble and fall If His Light you do forsake. So while the Light is shinning Believe in HIM, with all your might, That as we absorb and reflect Him We may be His "Son's of Light." "Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw- |
