In my prayers at night before falling off to sleep
I pray, I do not run and hide under covers
afraid of things laying wait in the dark

No nightmares for me
Peace and spiritually intensive moments
Nothing fed Intraveneously into my veins

Not a drug Induced haze
But a true sense of Inner peace
brought on by light and comfort
of belief’s grace

Cloaked in a Embrace of warmth
Serentity caressing my very being
Admiring the strenghth behind the knowing

Holding onto the faith
and soaring past the hurt and pain,
Torment of every day life.
Walking freely to Heaven’s gate
where my Angel awaits

My final words of prayer
each night shall be;
“Please God, when you do take me;
let it be this way and let her wait
smiling at the gate.”

WELCOME! Only way to get that peace, and you're right we won't find it with drugs coursing through our veins!

Beautiful poem!

A good way to start and to end each day is in seeking God and He'll take care of the middle.  This is a lovely poem of faith, hope and love in the life of the true believer.  Thank you KimW for sharing it with us here, are there more?   David

rwood, I too have someone I know is waiting at the gates for me when that day comes.
This person was very special in my every day life and I know that she is looking down and watching over me. She always has and will continue to until I meet her there. I call her Mom. (She was my Mother In Law, but so much more then that to me!)

I hope you are smiling and know that your angel waits and watches over you to.
It is especially rewarding to me to know that I have touched your heart and brought back memories.

God Bless
Kim

A tranquil piece.  It's so reasuring to rest in the arms of our Lord and the end of the day.  A very well written feeling and prayer.  Thank you.
