A Hard Heart Melted............

How does ones heart grow hard?
When bitterness  and pain put up the guard.
No turning back from waxing cold.
Hurt will set in and take it's mold.

A cold heart is not easily melted by the fire,
Sin takes hold amongst the muck and the mire.
When the fire goes out and no spark remains,
Only the coldness  is left to cause you  pain.

All thats left  now is darkness,
Leaving in it's path such a mess.
Loneliness and confusion a constant reminder,
That love is not easy for the finder.

When love dies in your heart, You must ask what is love .......?????
A mere feeling of content and bliss or something divine from above?
The only heart that can love.......
Is  a heart changed  from above.

For only God can love through us in everyway,
And only He can give us the truth we need to do that  each day.
For us  to truly  love.......... is indeed a gift from God's heart,
A gift you'll cherish not to  part.

I pray love will live too in my heart in divine strength all of my days,
God I humbly stand in need of your loving ways.
Ignite your love in my heart today.......
For to love is truly your way.

Welcome Illusion,
And thank you for your lovely poem on love, discerning the deterioration of it and also through God it's restoration.  You have given us some good thoughts here to think on.  Thank you for sharing this with us. God bless you,  David

Dear Illusion, You have known the love of God, He has not left you but perhaps you have left Him. Keep the prayer of love in your heart, open for Him, then you will start to feel Him once again. The fire of God can crack that shell, just keep the faith and that prayer within. I just spoke a prayer for you aloud as I felt the pain you feel and the emptyness inside. You too, find a secret place to kneel down and just give God a love offering from your soul, I guarantee results.  God Bless, Marcy

Hello and thank you all for your encouraging comments!

Nice to hear a positive note from you about the writing of the poem Denise.  I usually just go with what is in my heart, and do not pay much attention to the "rules" so to speak.

David you wrote,"And thank you for your lovely poem on love, discerning the deterioration of it and also through God it's restoration."

That is so discerning of you actually!!  Yes this poem is one that has been birthed out of experience.  I wish that I was a completed work....but we all know the work is lifelong.  Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with me.

Wow....Marcy....you have said much!!  Some of it is painfully a reality, and some is of course a joy!  I have glimpsed bits and pieces of His love when I can trust Him enough to show it to me.  I really do not think I have left Him, more accurately.....I have run on occasions because of my lack of trust.  Yet, I am so aware of His grace and that He never leaves me no matter how fast or hard I flee.  I really do know there is no where else to go but to HIM. Thank you so much for your prayers...you will never know how much it is appreciated AND needed.  This has been the toughest time of my life.  I am seeing results of years of prayer.....but the results are not fun or glorious as one might think.  Actually God is stripping away years of stuff.....and I am laid bare.  I certainly need all of the encouragement I can get!!

I have a good friend who says......Just me....walkin and stubbin my toe!!  Well it is appropriate, so I will sign out with that thought.  Lynne

Welcome Lynne! Lovely poem and it does show just that, when we are lost and then discover the Love God has.

Most of the time we don't "feel" Him, it is because of us. Because we have closed ourself off somehow. If you stay in His word and prayer, you shall feel Him. He is with us always and promised NEVER to leave us!

Thanks for sharing, I hope we can see more from you!

Oh, Illusion, I did not mean any disrespect or doubt your faith. I was simply stricken by the poem, the feelings you generated within me by the words. I had no revelation, only feeling from the poem for which I answered. Please forgive me for mis-representing your faith. I am new and have a lot to learn, which includes what Not to say.
Forgive me and God Bless. Marcy

Thank you for your sensitivity Marcy....but by all means I took NO offense at all to your earlier post!!  I was very blessed by it and encouraged.  You did nothing wrong and said only what was on your heart that I recieved in full.  I guess I was just trying to explain to you where I am at since you are a praying sister!!  I hope I did not seem offensive myself.....if I did please accept my apology.  I hope to hear more from your heart.

Thanks for your comments Bonnie!

I like it here....seems very uplifting! And the other poems are very enriching and the people are wonderful.  I hope to be around more and will post other poems I have written as time goes on.  I feel this is giving me a "spark" of renewed vision.

Dear Lynne; Welcome to this heavenly place where you will be blessed out of your mind! I know from where you are coming and I have been in that dark and very painful place.I promise you with God's own promise that He will bring you into the light and in the light you will stay! He guarantees it. All of us here will pray you into it. Can't wait to see more of your poems! Love ya, Ellie

Dear Lynn,  WELCOME! Your poem is full of love and the neverending reality of it. We all need the reminders of prayer for any sorrows or joys anyone has..believe me this forum has lifted every nerve from life to limb. I'm new here too and already it is a true blessing. I look forward to reading more of your work.
Sincerely,
Rwood
