Lord, Your sense of humor is shining through,
As I start the tasks of the day,
The dogs have already made a mess,
Spreading garbage along their way.
The dishes were somehow cloned in the sink,
I know that pile grew in the night,
Maybe Your angels were partying,
Until the sun burst forth it's first light.
When I went upstairs to start to clean,
I noticed a shimmering glow,
It was then I found a puddle,
From the toilet that had overflowed.
I cleaned that up and had to wash clothes,
So I started down the stairs,
Tripped over a shoe left in the way,
And was flying through mid-air.
An angel or two must have still been around,
And I was left with only a bruise,
For the distance I fell that's amazing
But I think that You were amused.
So, I sat for a minute to contemplate,
What had occurred at the dawn's early light,
And even I, had to laugh at it all,
Which started my day off just right.
So although there were a few problems,
You helped me to see them through,
You laughed, and made me laugh at myself,
Now I'll get done what I need to do!!!

Dearest Bonnie: How wonderfully lighthearted and filled with your faith, this is. I love your sense of humor! There is no doubt in my mind that the Angels were there to catch you! How lovely, are we not blessed out of our minds?  Love Ya, Ellie  p.s. You put it to such wonderful poetic bliss!

Bonnie, I LOVE IT!!! You made me laugh and chuckle out loud. Yes, I think Jesus has a great sense of humor. Often times I find myself in one of these situations and I, too,
laugh at myself!! You have lifted my day with this poem. Thanks, Marcy

Bonnie, I love this.  Once at the end of a madly rushed day that held true to Murphy's Law every step of the way, I sat on the floor laughing as tears streamed.  My 10 mo.old had upchucked all over his snow suit, so I'd set him in the tub completely dressed while I ran to get a plastic bag to put messy clothes in  My 2 yr. old turned the water on to help me.  Thank God for a sense of humor, or we'd go bananas!

Bonnie,
Humor is the best medicine.  I see you've taken a big swig for the day and given us a double dose as well.  How good it is when we can laugh off our troubles rather than let them pin us to the ground.  Your attitude was wonderful, as was your poem,  God bless you, Keep smiling,   David

Laugh out loud Bonnie... So funny and touching at the same time. I had company coming last night so I cleaned and mopped our hardwood floors. I must have used too much polish on the furniture and the overspray fell on the floor. Everyone was slipping and sliding all over the place. Thanks for sharing the laughter!
Sincerely
Rwood

Bonnie, God has to have a sense of humor to put up with the likes of us(or at least me)
and how well you point that out in your verse. You've brought a smile to me, not for your misfortune, but thinking how silly I must look to my Creator and his ministering angels! Thanks , this was great! Dennis :^)

Poetry is the expression of thoughts which awake the higher and nobler emotions, or their opposites, with words arranged to some accepted convention.........or maybe not! Dennis :^)
