There lies a little island
Just off the coast of your heart
Here is where I waited for you
As I watched you fall apart

You came to the shores of sorrow
And cast them in, one at a time
I tried to comfort you with breezes of love
Buy you let them blow right by

One morning I sent a rainbow
To greet you, in the sea spray
But just before the colors burst forth
You turned your back and walked away

I've seen you cry, both day and night
So I sent my truth upon wings
But you ran away, you were afraid
And you hid in your suffering

I sent you a message in a bottle
My words of love I insribed
Day after day, it weathered and lay
In the forgotten sands of time

You came to the shores of loneliness
And cried out in the moonlight
I sent shooting stars to accompany you
But despair had made you blind

You Pounded the beach with anger
And stirred the ocean's wrath
And when you were spent, and did not relent
I put treasures along your path

I saw you once, on the very edge
High up on the rocky cliff
I knew what you were thinking, and still
I held you steadfast in your step

You walked into the sea of cold
From betrayal and disgust
I washed you gently to the shore
And still you refused me of trust

You built a great tower, up on high
And in it, a beacon was lit
I thought you were finally looking for me
But instead it was just the ship

Still you came to the shoreline, and I
Sent you a gift afloat
I wanted you to see, that I'd relieve thee
If you'd have faith and hope

I gave you a tiny vessel
In which you could gracefully sail
Over to me, even through the rough seas
Evil would not prevail!

Still, you questioned the journey
And doubted the strength of the craft
But you climbed aboard with nothing to lose
And I sent swift winds to your back

You clung to the bow before you
Knowing not, where you would go
The ocean tossed you about for days
But you found me in your soul

Oh, my child I embrace you
And welcome you to my home
There is peace, in and around you
Never more, will you be alone

There are people all among us
That have braved the sea of life
Welcome to Paradise Island!
I've been waiting for you, my child

Dear rwood,
This is one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read. God protects and shields the lost without their even knowing and in the middle of the storm we finally cling to His open arms. This is just beautiful. Bless you.
Really touched me.  Marcy

Dear R; How magnificant is this poem and the analogy of the island and the sea. You wove it all with the thread of His relentless, passionate Loving pursuit. I feel so touched and I want to tell you that I so love everything that you write and can't wait for the next one! Love, Ellie

RWOOD,
I am awed by the absolute splendor and the genius of the imagry you used here in this well thought out poem of God's determined and seeking love despite the almost endless
unappreciation, rebelion, and self inflicted hurts of the sinner.  The end results: once again, you've produced a marvelous message which deserves a wide readership & exposure.
Thank you & God bless you,  David

Dear Alle, Ellie, & deleeme, Thank you humbly as I prayed for days on this one. Only because I have been there . Even in my darkest hours he sends me elegance. I'm determined to share his majestic beauty. The treasures that I wrote of are the kindred spirits we meet along our path. Someone that helps open our eyes and our hearts to him. I thank God for all of you being there for me to share this with.
With Love and respect,
Rwood

A masterpiece!  Only possible with the Master working through you, rwood.  So richly blessed I am to be among you and others on this forum. Your scenes are so vivid as I see myself once there so unaware of God's outpouring love in beauty and care everywhere.

This is the most excellent, touching Masterpiece I've seen! WOW! This one really touched me.  How He send us those natural signs and we turn before seeing them, just not waiting quite long enough. How we end up in that sea, being tossed about, and finally, finally, we open and let Him in!
This was just FANTASTIC!!!!  BRAVO!

Thank you all!

Hello rwood!

Well I must say it is a special piece of poetry to me when you feel like you yourself could of written it from experience.  As I read this.....one thought kept coming to me over and over......this sounds so personal!  I felt as though this poem was written just for me by the hand of God. You really have captured the heart of God for His children in this one. And you did it so beautifully and with power.  Thank you so much for taking such care to listen while you wrote!

A true masterpiece from the Master, through a yielded vessel.

Dear Illusion,
Your comment is so heartfelt because all I want is to be that vessel. And to be worthy of it. The blessing is mine in the spirithood of the ones it touches. Thank you all again.
Sincerely,
Rwood

This is such a beautiful poem! It's amazing how blind we can be to God's wonders, but it's even more amazing how He still wants to guide us home, although we are undeserving. Keep up the good work!

Regina,
I had to go hunting. But what a treasure. I'm keeping this one for sure. How beautiful a gem this is to me.

Mysteria: I am touched by your reply. This truly is something that came completely out of my faith. We are so flawed ya know. But that's the beauty of it all. He is always there waiting, watching, hoping. Much Love and Faith to you in this season and always!

Sincerely,
Regina
