A frog, put in water that's hot,
Immediately springs from the pot.
Immersed in water that's tepid,
It relaxes to succumb, instead.

It's much like our society
Warming to immorality
And many sins that used to shock,
Raise not and eyebrow, running amok.

We know to where the wide road's paved
When to worldly views, we become enslaved.
The shadowed valleys of the narrow path,
The faithful walk, while multitudes laugh.

Generations of MEism and right NOW,
Leave fewer and fewer believers to follow,
And families spread across the nation
Are unaware of loved ones temptations.

Even pastors too often succumb
To preach whatever will make more come,
While biblical truths are excluded,
Out of context, or diluted.

Teachers today, must work in a vice,
Knowing they or students will pay a price
For teaching a blob as origination
Omitting the beauty of God's creation.

Long hours are worked to furnish 'needs'
Of technology working at greater speeds.
Couselors are brought into schools
To help kids cope, as their friends blood pools.

All the while the heating water
Is relaxing precious sons and daughters,
In their lighted shoes and latest fad pants,
Who, without Christ, haven't a chance.

Parents, too, in waters so warm,
Like so many others, fear no harm.
Souls can't be cleansed of sins spoils,
When that relaxing warm water finally boils.

How unique! So very true, as we sit back and relax and are no longer shocked by the tragedies we hear. WOW! Excellent poem!

This is a very true poem, and I love the metaphor. Good job!

dear Sandgrain; The Truth is never lukewarm!
Your poem is right on and scary. You are right in the line that says we can't make it without Christ.  Love, Ellie

Sandgrain-Isn't it sad that the madness in this world even has to be written about, you have sure conveyed very clearly what a sad state we are in.  As Ellie said, it's scary. But once again, you have opened at least one more pair of eyes, Thanks.....Bonnie

You've got another winner here. You have a wonderful ability to see and share vital and important messages from the common and ordinary--until we see the effect--Extraordinary!!  Thank you,  David

Excellent! I guess we should thank God for our discomfort and heartaches when our conscience cries out. For we still have one! The closer to God I get the colder the world seems...He is the only true comfort. It's kind of funny and glorious to think about Frogs jummping out all over the world   To be with the Prince of peace. I love it!
Sincerely,
Rwood

Thanks to each who've read and responded.  Wht.Dove, Love Bug & ellie, you're right, truth is never luke warm.  Bonnie, it is a sad state of affairs our society's in and it bothers me a lot.  David, you're a great encourager and inspiration.  rwood, yes, frogs leaping to be with the Prince of peace.  Great picture. LOL It's tough to be thankful in all things, but we already know God uses all things for good.  Marcy, Your kindness is music to my ears. Thank you.
