God, I know you have your reasons
And since I am your child
Please know my questions are innocent
As I place them before you
with my heart open wide

I know I must have faith
in your purpose of life
But sometimes my body weeps
from strange depths of me inside
It's like my heart is wrenching
and Pouring through my eyes
the pain is real
and the things I feel
I cannot push aside

Oh the agony of listening
to my worst enemy
I tell myself
To hold the faith
and calm the misery

Who's to blame
for this sorrow and shame?
That rears its head
It's ugly name
That pushes me close
To the pits of hell
Someone that I know too well

Why God must I be tried
has my plea of mercy been denied?
Is he throwing a parade as I cry
To welcome my arrival to his side?
Celebrating my lost soul
Like his favorite politician
that won the majority vote?

NO! I will not go there!
Oh God I will not disappoint you.
I will not run the race.
I'm tired of him twisting your grace.
I know YOU LOVE ME!
Please, Please
Make him leave me be.
And suddenly...
I find a note
left on the bureau
From my daughter to me.

Dear Mommy, I hope you have a great day
Hugs and kisses
P.S. You're the best mommy in the whole world

And your love poured down on me!

Rwood - What a heart felt poem, isn't great how He chases that old imp away when we call for Him.  This was beautiful, with a terrific message....thanks for sharing this.   Bonnie

Oh I love this, especially the last line, "and Your love poured down on me."  We cannot know how weak or strong our faith until it's tested.  Our Lord already knows, and through testing, shares that knowledge with us, as when the cock crowed.  Thank you.

I love it! I loved the last line too! He has a way of showing us don't He?  That's awesome!

I liked your poem a lot. Sometimes we all feel dispare and lost, we must remember at these, our lowest points, lay our sins at the cross and forget them, as they are forgiven. Isn't it just like Jesus to have your precious daughter send you the message that uplifted you. You are not alone, we all feel this way sometimes, neither or we perfect nor or we suppose to be.
God Bless

RWOOD,
Your poem is a very moving piece, and even the twist of the title, is such a wonderful touch.  The God who promises to supply all the needs of His children, Is he not the God of Providence as well, working our His good for us through the many facets/avenues and people in our lives-how wonderfully you made that connection as seen in your daughter's timely (perfectly timed & placed) note.
Thanks for sharing this lovely piece & moment of discovery & recovery with us!  David

rdwood, i loved the title, i loved the message, i loved your style, i loved this poem!  Isn't God great - how He sends us what we need when we are at our breaking point (works best in our weakness doesn't he? that scripture is so evident here!). I do hope your days are looking up my dear?
Bless you!

Dear R; I almost didn't see this beautiful poem of yours. A great lesson to us all is written here. As your daughter[God love her] was His Grace for you, so we can heal and comfort one another with just a kind word or gesture. We are His only voice and hands and heart to spread His love. I have to tell you that darkness that you were feeling isn't going to be around much longer. I,ve been there, I was there for years, His healing was gradual, but I'm finally free of it, I can tell byy your poem that you are on the brink of the end of it! Praise God! love, ellie

Thank you all so much. I owe it all to God. I do get down, but he has never failed to pick me up higher than even I could imagine. I appreciate the sharing and caring and wonderful spirit in this forum. God bless you all and I pray that he touches millions through our words.
Sincerely,
Rwood
