(This is Dedicated to my 20 month old son Caleb who is the Apple of my eye!  Wish you could meet him.)

Not So Little

Precious little son of mine
with little hands and little feet,
with little nose and little chin
and little diapers on your seat,
all little but the wonder in your eyes
that spy a world so neat.

Cutest little babe of mine
with little navel, little toes,
little legs and little knees,
whose rounded little tummy grows,
all little, yet the size of love Dad holds for you
God only knows.

Dearest little boy of mine
with little hurts and little pains,
with little pint sized setbacks,
little troubles, little strains,
remember in a world of not so little grief
that God still reigns.

Darling little man of mine
with little things to try and do,
with little messes, little spills,
and little things to get into.
Yet little aren't the future plans
your greater Father has for you.

Oh Caleb, may this not so little blessing
someday shine as true.

This is so precious. What a lucky little darling your son is to have a Dad who appreciates all the joys of baby days. This poem makes me want to reach out and pick him up and give him a tight squeeze. Can't wait till I'm a grandmother. Keep on loving and enjoying that little one, it is so true they grow up too quick!

Stephen,
Your poem is a wonderful honor to the precious gift you have recieved from above in your son, and a tribute to a truly tender, appreciative, Father's Love--It all speaks WELL of Caleb(who also has a Good Biblical name),Of You, and of God for His wisdom in making us just so.
Welcome to our forum & may you be inspired to write & share many more poems.   David

Stephen; A beautiful tribute to your son. Frame it for his grandson, someday! I welcome you here, as we all do, and look forward to hearing more of your poetry. Thank you for this heartwarming and beautifully written poem to your son. I want to kiss that fat little neck this minute. Babies are my favorite gifts from God, I think they're His too!  Ellie

WELCOME!  This is a beautiful poem for such a precious gift! I've had 3 of those precious lil ones, who aren't so little anymore. Enjoy the smallness it don't last long! What a treasure this would be to keep it for him when he grows older.

Please check your email for something special!
