"And I bestow upon you a Kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom...."(Luke 22:29-30a  NKJV)

There is a Special Table
Within the Kingdom spread,
Where we and Christ commune
And we are spiritually fed.

The elements are simple:
The Fruit of the Vine and the Bread,
Which reminds us of Christ's Humanity
And the flesh and blood, for us shed.

"In My Memory, this do"
Mindful of my Sacrifice,
I came to seek and save the lost
And willingly paid Sin's price.

As you commune, please look within
Examine yourself well,
He who fails, "unworthily"
Shall endanger his soul with Hell.

My Supper gives you cause, to look
Both back and also ahead,
From My vicarious death
'Til I come again, as it's said.

It was through Christ's broken body
And His life's Blood purposely shed,
That we thus called into one body
And are all, become as one bread.

So pause as you partake of it
On each blessed Lord's Day,
'Twas Love's greatest Sacrifice--
Remember, Thank God and Pray.

David again I'm in awe! But communing with him should be an everday thing! Though I get what you're saying totally! You've written an awesome work!

Dear David; this should be set to music! What a glorious hymn it would make. Do you know anyone who writes music? Just an idea. I agree with Rebecca, that our spiritual communion with our Lord is every second of every day. Thank you for this magnificent poem. This one, I'm sure, makes the Angels sing. Love, Ellie

Thank you for your replies Rebecca & Ellie.  And I am in agreement with you two.  I feel that we ought to be in daily fellowship  and commune with the Lord.  But this poem was more specifically about the Lord's Supper, as taught in Matthew 26:26-29/Mark 14:22-25/I Cor 10:16-17/ 11:23-29 which is to be done on the in the worship of the church on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7).  I suppose I didn't make it quite clear enough.
I view this as a special form of communing with the Lord, and as a Highlight of the worship on the first day of the week.  I hope this helps clarify the subject addressed.  David
