              Angles Came a Calling

Angles came a calling with their wings spread open wide,
to take my dearest sister because it was her time,
They came in the afternoon,
as the snow filled the sky,
With a promise of a new dawning, our sister closed her eyes.
They called her illness Cancer,
I called it unfair, unkind,
to see her suffer like she did, just broke my heart inside.

When the Angles came a calling,
a warm spirit filled the air,
a breeze began a blowing,
as the Angles gathered there.
With her family by her bed side,
we felt, others was there to,
we knew her time had come,
and our hearts were so blue.

I thought she reached as thou she grabbed a hand
we could not see,
I flet the wings of Angles as they brushed beside of me.
Rest our Dearest sister,
we will miss you so,
Angles keep her close to you,
don't run just walk real slow.

You see I want her to see what she was living for,
the life she gained in Heaven,
was worth the life let go.
And when she walks beside of you,
gently lead her so,
don't never ever leave her, and always let her know.
The tears I shed the day she died, was just for her to see,
because my dearest sister, meant all the world to me.

And if you have a loved one,
who's time has come to be,
I hope you felt what I felt that day,
that brush from Angles wings.

Welcome Sandy! I love your poem and many say they see the one's passing on speaking to someone the others can't see. There is always someone there to help them in their transition and you brought that out really well!  Just beautiful!  I'm sorry for your loss, I know you have to miss her terribly, but you know she's in a much better place!  God Bless you!

Welcome!  It's so encouraging to see your faith easing your deep pain.  I felt such peace and calm when my Mom died, feeling she at last had accepted the truth of God's love, after years of her doubt due to some church rules that weren't biblical.  Bless you.

Sandy,
A warm welcome from me too.
Your poem was absolutely beautiful. It illustrated so perfectly the pain you must have felt.
I deeply feel for you. I have a sister with whom I'm very close and I don't know what I would do if she passed away. I wish you strenght. May our Heavenly Father watch over you!

It was such a great heart break when my sister died, but she left such a great testimony behind, on March 19 1999 she found out she had Cancer, she was given two weeks to two months to live, but she made it 10 months, I asked her the night after she found out she had Cancer if this changed the way she felt about her Faith in God, within a second she replyed, (I have been working on a better place to go for a long time, I am just that much closer to home) I was so uplifted. Praise the Lord for that, and through it I find the Strength to go one, thanks for all who have read this, I hope it moves many.

This is a beautiful tribute! Yes, I'm sure that the angels came to get your sister. It's good that you can see the beauty in death. Keep up the good work!

That was very beautiful, and very comforting.  I know there were angels there when my grandfather passed on.  Even tho' I cried, I knew he was being well taken care of.  Thank you for your poem.  Much love, One love, PEACE

I really believe they were there, the room was so warm, and silent, full of Loved ones that had gathered there to wish her good-by, she knew her family all the way up to the very end, and some of her very last words was, (she was not afraid anymore) thanks for sharing with me about your loved one.
