I don't think some realize
Of what they're missing out,
What us, early-morning risers
Know without a doubt.

By sleeping in 'til noon time
"We've got it made," some say,
But don't know they're robbing themselves
Of the Best part of the Day!

In the early morning hours
Everything is so fresh and new,
There is a Blessed Quietness--
A time to Focus and Renew.

This day 'fore the world gets crazy
And the pressures build up by the hour,
There's no better time to study God's word
And ascend to prayer's precious tower.

For guidance and strength that is needed
For the perilous Journey ahead,
How much better to arm ourselves
And from the day's start, to be led.

I am glad I've discovereds this Blessing
"Tis the Best part--What can I say?
In quiet serene-You speak to me
And inspired, WE start off MY day!

God Bless early morning Risers
Who arise to spend time with You,
May the Sense of Thine Abiding Presence
Guide and bless them the whole day through.

"Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw-

This is a beautiful poem! I have to get up early to go to school, but I am usually too tired to notice any of God's wonders in the morning. I'll try to take more notice now!

David, this brings back those early mornings in Georgia, when I used to sit on the back porch in the summer and watch the sunrise. Kids still asleep and it was so serene, that was my quiet time with God!  Thanks for bringing that moment back to mind. Yep, there's nothing like the quiteness of early mornings.

Which way is right for you,
Stop and softly ask yourself,
What Would Jesus Do?

Wonderful and inspiring (coming from the point of view of one who is not a morning person!)  You give me hope, however!  Enjoyed reading this!

David; You are a magical poet. God has given you a glorious gift that you use to inspire and uplift us all. My very favorite time of day has always been morning. Since I was a little kid. It's the time of day that I love spending just hearing His love and being still. thank you so much!

 In the time we've known
That we each are a part of one another
We've lost as much as we have won...
And as our lives have grown
We have found that it only brings us pain
To hang on to the things that we have done...
***Still I love the times you've come***

This really touched me in a great way, you see my sister Bernice died of Cancer two weeks ago, and I had been blessed with the wonderful job of taking care of her. I would get up every day as early as I could, and go to her house and spend the whole day till I tucked her in bed, SHE would wait for me to come and I would set by her bed in the early morning light and read or sing to her, sometimes we just held each others hands. I have a wonderful husband that let me spend as much time with Bernice as needed, and the early morning hours was a wonderful time for both me and him, and Bernice, I wouldn't trade that time and memorys for anything!
Thanks for putting in words how I felt.

I'm in total agreement with you.  I always say I wake the birds up.  This time before any of the days problems, and before any business is open, allows total uninterupted communion with our Lord, without feeling we ought to be making that call or trip or whatever.  Your poem is fantastic!
