~Heavens Not So Far Away~

So little time now has passed, since you left this earth...
my tired and worn angel--called home on the 30th anniversary of his birth.

I'm still accepting and learning to let go,
I'm still healing...it will take a long time-I know.

I live in the love we shared and the promises made,
I remain in awe of you, the strength and faith you displayed.

I could never repay the gifts that your love gave to me...
now comforted by your poems at night -- when I miss you so desperately.

I know you are in a better place, all of the hurt and pain-you are now spared,
Its selfish of me to still wish you were here, but I loved you more than I ever dared.

I'm so very grateful for the time we had and as I accept that your gone to stay...
I still feel you here in my heart...and I know...Heavens not so far away.

Janet Marie 2/12/00

I miss you baby...but I'm okay(smile)
I love you...always

we live in the light...

That was a beautiful poem! It brought me to tears. Yes, Heaven isn't far away! Keep up the good work.

Janet, this is a beautifully sad and a sadly beautiful poem, of loss which helps to bring Heaven that much closer in our hearts. The loss of a great blessing in your life, can be devastating--but it can also be the time when we come to realize just how richly we have been blessed!
I'm glad it seemed like Heaven moved a little closer to your heart.  God bless you,  David

It is so difficult when we lose a loved one.
It used to really crush me. Though now that I've learned about God and Heaven, it is a beautiful place to be. To know that they can still watch over us, and be with us in spirit, helps to make it easier.  Like Jesus said, they sleep...and we shall all be together soon.  Beautiful poem Janet!

Which way is right for you,
Stop and softly ask yourself,
What Would Jesus Do?

Oh, Janet Marie; I,m feeling so sad for your loss. How devestating and painful for you. How could you ever deal with this pain without our dear Lord to comfort you. I so agree with you, because I know that what you say is true. They are not so far away. You are a gifted Angel of poetry.

Janet your poem really touched me - i feel for your loss, this must be a really hard time for you.  But Praise God for the comfort He brings during this time, and you're absolutely right - Heaven isn't so far away!  Bless you sweetie.

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme,
They are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
Forgiveness and understanding-remain the most beautiful words ever heard.
