         My Power in Prayer
I realize he knows it all
He even created it
The end from the beginning
That is what they say
But knowing it
This is not enough
He wants prayer
God wants to hear me
God wants fellowship with me
He made
He came
He died
He saved
He resurrected
And He
Wants me
He already knows what I am going to say
But, the Lord of Lords, King of Kings
Wants prayer
What a power we have
To know the God of the universe, is listening over our shoulder
Can you imagine
That he waits for us every night
What a power we have
I certainly use my power of prayer
Do you?

Yes, prayer.  For too many of us (myself included) prayer is an all but untapped resourse.  I tend to look everywhere else for solutions.  Shame on me.

"Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Ev'ry thing to God in prayer."

Thanks for the reminder.

Great poem, and never underestimate the power of prayer. Though we can pray all the time not just at night.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God.

When you can't make up your mind
Which way is right for you,
Stop and softly ask yourself,
What Would Jesus Do?

thumper,
this is SO great...and you are right... he wants to hear our prayers...
little poems to god...our prayers...(smile)
take care, janet marie

..."when you walked into the room...I saw their faces---
did you know--you made it seem like time was standing still...
and I felt---fascination...though I only knew you then--just casually...
then you slowly turned and smiled in my direction...
and my heart gave me away"....

I like to pray in the shower, for it is quiet and I am always alone, or in the car when I am alone, or anywhere at anytime.  I always hear people saying how hard it is for them to pray and talk to God about the day they have had and their problems and so forth, but the way I look at it is...you talk to you best friend(s) and other people about it, why not talk to the person who can actually help?  Anyways, prayer is mainly just talking to God and that is how I view it, God is not only my Savior but also my best friend, I cant go without talking to my best friend everyday!  He may already know what I am going to say, but He still wants to hear it!  So yes, I do use my power or prayer!  Wonderful poem!

Just be glad I'm not your child! *evil grin*

Echo- I think another thing to remember is that god is your friend and once you build this relationship your talks, or prayers are like talking to a good friend or a parent.

We all need this reminder so often.  It's absolutely awesome to ponder God in His greatness listening and caring about little ol' unworthy me, and using my wishes (within His will) to change something.  Great writing.
