As the days go by, I only focused on what had been lost...
As these moments came to be-my heart ached from all the cost.

As the days go by, I understand-I am now stronger for your touch...
As these moments came to be-I learned I could be loved this much.

As the days go by, my heart is awakened, wanting to heal...
As these moments came to be- I realized this kind of faith is real.

As the days pass by, I know I have only to look for the answers-inside of me...
As these moments came to be-I finally understand...
I am the only one-who can truly set me-free.

As the days pass by, I accept without regret-my life will never be the same...
As these moments came to be-I believe my heart, soul and spirit...
I will once again reclaim.

Janet Marie

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme,
They are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
Forgiveness and understanding-
remain the most beautiful words ever heard.

Ah sweet dawn of realization!  How nicely you brought that out, and how wise you are to have learned, but then it's something I seem to have to learn over and over and over.

I very much agree with a sandgrain. Well worded Janet, you express things in a very special way.

Janet-
I thought your poem was excellent!!! A great combination of feelings driven and great line breaks! I myself have only restrained myself to free verse and so I envy that you have such a talent for it.  Really GOOD!!!

Janet,
I really liked the structure that you used to frame this lovely message of the spiritual growing pains and maturation of a believing, trusting soul.  It is a beatiful reflection of it's author--who evidently is writing about and sharing some things which she(you) have personally experienced.
You've come a long way, God bless you,  David

Reclaim, indeed!  Amen to that - it sounds like you've come a long way from where you once were, maturation and spiritual growth are expressed here so well!  I loved the line "I learned i could be loved this much." It made me think of you getting a revelation of God's unconditional love for you, which is so cool.  I agree with thumper4him, great line breaks, love the repetition, and great message.  As always, another fantastic piece of work from a fantastic poet and friend.
