~This poem is entitled "Sky Island-Inspiration and Getaways" as it is my personal interpretation of my own "Heaven" or a place for me to get away from everyone or everything. A place where I can think or meditate about my own feelings and thoughts. The way I see it, Everyone has or should have one for we all need space sometime. And, one last thing on a totally different subject, A BIG THANKS To everyone who reads my poems and takes the time to reply to them. Your words and thoughts mean a lot to me and my writings. Thank You All.~

Walking along in the warm gold sand
Alone by yourself or holding a hand
Feeling the warmth of the sun's hot rays
A sense of Utopia, lost in a daze
A soothing ocean breeze blows of salt
Here in your place in Heaven's Vault
The water is clean, a crisp clear blue
The sound of waves crashing is nothing but true
Walking along the water everyone knows-
That wonderful feeling of foamy water, soaking between your toes
Sitting back with a mixed drink or wine
To realize it's only the sweetest decline
A world that is made of fire not ice
What you want it to be, your own paradise
In this place there is no wrong, only just right
No reason for war, no reason to fight
A place of success, of goals to strive
A place where you say it's good to be alive
A place where the sun sets and the sky changes color
And the starry night is one like no other
You're never really tired, you don't need to sleep
And the stars in the sky do anything but weep
You belong up there, high high above
With feelings of Joy, Passion, romance and Love
It's a place where you go when you're down or sad
It's a place where you go when life's dismal or mad
It could be a place to get better health
But it's dedicated to the finding of one's innerself
Who they are, their Joy and their Pride
To prove to themselves they don't need to hide
Everyone has a place to run, to get, away
Whether it's temporary, for good, it's a place to stay
Everyone who goes needs to learn how to fly
For it's their only way to get to their Island in the Sky

Wow! What a picture you paint! A true paradise! I could sure go for a place like that right now.  Wonderful, excellent writing.  I'm so glad you shared more with us!

Seth,
this is lovely and so relaxing to read.
I feel like I have sand in my shoes now...
you are so right...we all need a place where we can release our selves from everything and just "be". If we are lucky it can be someplace exotic and tropical like this...sometimes I find my most peaceful moments here on the computer reading all these amazing poems...and in the still of late night, writing my own thoughts.
It's all paradise...take care janet marie

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme,
They are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
Forgiveness and understanding-
remain the most beautiful words ever heard.
