(The Snow has finally come my way--And so I
here give it attention, from the perspective of God's Word-Compliments of your snow-bound teacher & friend)

Get out your Bibles--you'll need them
As we study on the Subject of SNOW,
This will give you some references
That you just might like to know.

Tho' mostly Snow's connotations
Are positive as you will see,
Sometimes, it's connected with bad
Like Sin and Leprosy.
(See Job 6:15-16/Numbers 12:10)

More often Snow is Symbolic
In color, as wool as we'll show,
As in the cleasning from sin's dark stain--
"wash...and I'll be whiter than snow."
(See Psalm 51:7/Isaiah 1:18)

Mentioned as a Natural Phenomenon
In answer to it's source and birth,
Here's the verses that tell who Orderd it
"For He says to the Snow, fall on earth"
(See Job 37:6/Psalm 147:16)

The Bible so speaks of it's Blessings
As a Gift, we should personally know,
Which waters for futrure fruitation,
"Have you entered the Treasury of the Snow?"
(See Isaiah 55:10-11/Job 38:22)

But there's also a God-like connection
As His garb is described, as just so,
"The Ancient of Days," Daniel telling us this,
That "His Garment was white as the snow."
(Read Daniel 7:9)

And in Jesus' Transfiguration
And from Heaven, what did St. John see?
His clothes, hair and head were white as snow--
Showing to us His True Deity!
(See Mark 9:3/Revelation 1:14)

So the next time You ponder the Snow
Think of Sin, but more so, Purity,
Think of God and His Gifts to Bless man
'Specially Jesus, in His Divinity!

CLASS DISMISSED
(on Account of Snow-
  Hee--Hee!)

WOW!David this is so terrific! You really did your homework. I love the way you then put it all together and the rhyming was perfect. I didn't realize there were so many references to snow in scripture. Thanks for the lesson and a beautiful poem.

David, very well done! What comes to mind is when I wrote Peaceful Winter's Night! When I laid down in the front yard and beheld the snow. My thoughts of the scripture came to mind...make me pure as the new fallen snow!

Very well done, I really liked the scriptural referrence here!

David, this is so creative and good, and fun to read..you really did your homework on this one. The mix of scripture and poerty was a great idea   Janet Marie

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme,
They are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
Forgiveness and understanding-
remain the most beautiful words ever heard.

Thank you all for your kind and generous comments. We are still housebound--but as long as the internet is working, I can travel and visit as much as my time will let me.  For me, it was fun writting this piece, and researching for it-I was glad for the opportunity to do so and to get to share it with you.  Shalom!

WoW David, I am new here and I must say, you are indeed an inspiration and a great poet.  I love the way you add scripture to your verse.   This is more fun than recess.
