When my spirit is broken and I loose my pace,
I know I will be mended and put back in the race.
Because the Lord is my mender and he mends me,
With every stitch, he sets me free.

When I get lost in this world I'm in,
I know I'll be found and guided again.
Because the Lord is my guidence and he guides me.
He wants to see me finally set free.

When there's an ache in my heart and tears in my eyes,
I know I'll be comforted and the tears will subside.
Because the Lord is my comforter and he comforts me,
He will touch my heart and set me free.

When I am facing the devil and all I feel is fear,
I know I am protected and God is always here.
Because he is my protector and he protects me.
I know after the battle, I will be free

When my body is sick and can't seem to go on,
I know he will heal me, the sickness will be gone.
Because the Lord is my healer and he heals me,
From all this sickness, he sets me free.

When I feel deserted and lonely too,
I know I will be loved and this love is not new.
Because the Lord is my love and he always loved me,
I know without a doubt, his love sets me free.

When I'm tired and weak from all the strife,
I know he'll give me strength and renew my life.
Because the Lord is my strength and he renews me,
Through his renewal, he'll set me free.

When I've done wrong and I'm convicted of my sin,
I know I'll get disciplined and a second chance again.
Because the Lord is my Father and he loves me,
From this sin he'll set me free.

When I have fallen and the hole seems deep,
I know I will be saved and my soul he will keep.
Because Jesus is my saviour and he saved me,
He died on the cross to set me free.

Beautiful!  When I was first a Christian, I found great comfort in the fact that God is called "The Holy Comforter" (John 14).  I'd think of the wonderful warm Comforter (quilt) that my Grandma would throw over us.

Critique:
In the second stanza I'd change the word "guidance" to simply "guide."
And in the sixth staza I'd change "and he always loved me" to the simpler "and he loves me."

Good poem full of good reminders.

Lynn,
I like how you referred the the assundry problems we face and how we find resolution & compensation in our multi-faceted God, the blessed end of whose works is basically the same, ie, to set us free.
Bravo! A Very good read here!    David

Lynn; The way you touch upon each of the trials we all face and how our Lord goes through every trial with us, giving us strength to endure, is exquisite. Thank you!
