The moon was shining brightly
O're the hills covered with snow
Against the dark sky backdrop
It gave off its luminous glow

The stars were twinklin overhead
Oh what a beautiful sight
As the snow lay on the branches
Covering them with sparkling white

The snow was gently drifting down
And I stood in total awe
At the beauty that surrounded me
In God's landscape that I saw

I went and found a spot there
In my own snow covered yard
Laid back and took the beauty in
As the snow started falling hard

The surroundings were so quiet
My mind was at total peace
All thoughts I had, moments before
Seemed to fade away and cease

I asked the Lord to cleanse me
Make me pure as the new fallen snow
I felt His love start bubbling within
As I could feel it begin to flow

Suddenly, I felt so happy
With the silence and peace around
As I watched the snow still falling
And made a snow angel on the ground

I wished I could stay forever
In that one special moment in time
With the beauty that surrounded me
In the twinkling, peaceful nightime

Beautiful indeed WhtDove. Considering I only saw snow remnants once living here, you make the snow sound so beautiful and appealing

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely.

Isis, I can't believe you haven't seen it! Well I sure wish I could find a picture that would express the thoughts here. Been searching for hours today and just couldn't find one! Thank you Lisa!

Thank you Denise, that is exactly what I saw and felt as you describe. I hope I brought that across.

Thanks so much Pepper! Glad you enjoyed this!

Ruth always glad to bring you a smile my friend!

Devine, I had snow pants on hehe...so I didn't really feel the cold. I could have sat there for a long time! I'm really not one for winter but hey, it was peaceful and beautiful! Thanks Sharon!

WhiteDove-
The poem is lovely.
Guess I feel the same about the
beautiful rays of the sunshine that
touched my day, as you must feel about
the snow.
What an ~angel~ to share it with us.

Thanks Echo! Seeing as how you're in snowless land, I'm glad I could give you a visual! hehe

Marge thank you! I really am not one for winter, I prefer summer! But I couldn't help to see the beauty in it as the snow fell and the peaceful surrounded me! It was a memory that will last a while!

Tahnk Rebecca,
I haven't seen snow here in a while--but I saw it beautifully in your poem just now, and the inner peace, joy & purity it suggest, renewing within a child-like state.
Thanks for the precious pictures!

LOL Ellie! I hope you can sit right in the middle of it and be surrounded by the Awe of God's creation! May you have peace abundantly!

Deleeme, I'm glad this could paint a picture for you! Words are so hard to come by to describe what I felt! Just one of those moments I felt so at peace that I didn't want to leave it!  Thank you!

I know I read this one b4 and love it.  Must have had some interruption why I didn't reply.  I think it's one of your finest pieces, and I remember you telling me how you'd just laid in the snow in awe, so that must be what inspired you.

Rebecca that was beautiful, kind of lighthearted but serious at the same time... I like how you joined the image of the snow with God's forgiveness...  Man it so made me wish we got snow here!!! (auckland gets none).  One day, i swear i will make a snow angel too!

Mirjam thanks! Well God refers to snow as pure and cleansing. I will have to look up that scripture.  Snow is very pretty, and I guess we sometimes complain because we have to shovel it, and drive in the mess. But it sure makes a beautiful picture on God's landscape. I hope someday you will get to make a snow angel. Just remember whenever that time comes, you are never to old to do it.      Not quite the one I was looking for, but in Ps. 51:7  Thanks again!
