I have a confession to make
I hope you will be forgiving,
The photo you've seen with my posts
Is of me, but in my past living.
For it was of me, back in my prime
But a young 50, I soon will be turning,
The years, they have taken their toll--
But they've also giv'n insight and learning.

I will find a more recent pic,(if I can)
To give you a more updated view,
But remember it's not the exterior
That really makes up the "true you!"
So I hope that you will be accepting
Of the "Me" that I truly am now,
Accept me for what I am-(not what was)
And I'll try for you all, to stand tall!

(Thanks to all my wonderful Spiritual Journeys
Friends-God Bless You)

The outside's not important, Dave
Of that you are aware
To 'youth', I know, you're not a slave
'Eternal' is your care.

At times, I know, we all look back
To kinder moments when
The shutter gave us much more 'slack'
Those days of 'way back then'.

Forgiveness is not called for here
There's nothing wrong you've done
And fifty is not old, my dear
That's when life's just begun!

(or so I've been told...I still have a year and a half to go before I get that old..hehehe...well, almost a year and a half!)

Cute poem, David!!

Denise

Thank you Denise for your poetic reply-
Now I won't have to go off and die
Knowing I've got friends like you
Accepting,encoraging in what I do!
  Thanks alot Friend!

David that won't change who you are and the person we've come to know! Will be glad to see it though!  It is on the inside what counts!

Dear David; I really admire your honesty! Remember as long as your young at heart that's all that matters! You also have a young and vibrant spirit too!

what in the world is there to forgive?  You've blessed us with your poetry and encouragement and friendship, and whether there is a photo there or not does not matter.  Besides, 50 isn't old, when you've got the whole of eternity before you!!! Bless you David for your honesty.

David
Tis not the photo we come to see, but the words that you write from the inside! Like mirjam said "what in the world is there to forgive?" You have an honest heart and soul! Always look forward to your writing!!

David, I see nothing wrong to forgive you about.  The picture is you, will always be you, even if it is an old picture.  You could have put your baby picture, it's still you!  it isnt like you put a picture of someone else all together, its still you, possibly how you would like us to see you, or when you wish we all could have met, or maybe you didnt want to admit your real age,  or maybe because you still feel that age, or many other reasons, whatever the reason it doesnt matter to me, because like I said, its still you, who cares when.  I love your poetry and thats what I come here to do, read others poetry and respond how I see fit, what the person looks like makes no difference to me!  So *hugs* to you, but I do so appreciate the honesty!! God bless you!

Just be glad I'm not your child! *evil grin*

Thank you all for your understanding & sweet acceptance, and gentle counsel. I have been in touch with Rebecca & Ron, but unfortunately the photo option ahs been disabled presently--so I will have to wait to update my picture.  If you want we to send you an updated one, go to my profile and e-mail me, and I will send one out to you.  Thank you to all my dear friends & associates here at Passions(esp. Spiritual Journeys)--dlw

Don't worry about it.  I'm sure you're not the only one who's done this--since I was contemplating doing the same thing myself.  The thing with me, though, is it wouldn't be entirely dishonest, since I haven't changed a bit in 30 years. Ho, Ho, Ho.

Sorry David, couldn't help it!!!     I was digging around in the archives, found this and thought that with your "2nd Childhood" post in the Pub, this just had to come back around.  Bonnie

As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.. you thought to be honest and you're adjudged to be so by the WORD.  That's important.  Hold your head up.
